Attempt to get to Canada, part 2. After more than 13 hours stuck in Edinburgh airport and a plane that was clearly unfit to fly, we are waiting to take off for Montreal. Yesterday was like a comedy of errors. Why did Air Canada put us anywhere near that plane? In over 20 years of flying, I’ve rarely been more concerned about taking off in a plane. Worst of all, was the lack of info for passengers, many of whom had had the same flight cancelled the day before. No water offered in the plane for well over an hour -despite the searing temperatures. Numerous elderly folk were suffering in the heat. Several passengers were still waiting for their luggage past 9pm last night. Nobody had a clue what was going on. Many people had had no food since before 0900. Absolute shambles. Hope the Tartan Army lads make it to Miami ok!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A wee health update I’d like to share with you… Four days ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was - as you’d imagine - a bit of a shock. Particularly after being reassured a year ago that a lump I’d discovered was nothing to be concerned about. I pushed for a second opinion. I’m massively glad that I did so. I now hope to make the most of my voice - to campaign and help others who have also been affected by this awful disease. I’d love to hear your stories, to raise more awareness of breast cancer in younger women, and to support the self employed and the children and partners of those affected. I’m constantly telling others to raise their heads above the parapet. Well..now it’s my turn. Life is short. It’s time we made the most of it. 🩷🤍 #DoYourBreast #breastcancer

I am officially launching a campaign today, for more awareness of breast cancer in people under 50. #DoYourBreast Do Your Breast is calling for better education and support, earlier screening, and a heightened understanding of breast cancer in young people who present with symptoms or concerns. 🩷Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women under 50 in the UK. 🩷1 in 7 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The consequences can be devastating. Let’s work together on this, so that you - or your loved ones- don’t become another statistic.
