This woman is mistaken. Vilimale’ does not belong to its current residents. People move from place to place all the time. Vilimale’ belongs to all Maldivians. The majority of Maldivians are against cutting down trees, destroying coral reefs and similar for the sake of development. That is a very selfish thing to do. Our generation is able to enjoy the natural beauty of Maldives cause decades ago, our parents and grandparents took care of the land and caused no harm, even as hundreds of resorts and related services were developed. Otherwise, we would not be able to enjoy this today. Sadly, in the last 15 years this has been changing little by little, all in the name of development. We want to deliver the same beautiful Maldives we inherited to our unborn children too.

Update Here’s the sporting/racing motorboat Gautam Singhania was driving. He thought he was operating it in a calm river/lake in India. But Maldives doesn’t have rivers, we have rough seas. After the accident caused by his low quality and drunk driving, he was brought to Felidhu with visible injuries to his face and hand. He refused to provide his personal infor and declined to sign the medical records, which hospitals are required to maintain for every patient they treat. He was extremely rude. He was the one driving the racing motorboat, it’s been confirmed and his negligence led to the two people who are still missing. Now, taxpayer funded drones are being used to search for the missing individuals. And he has fled the country with full support and assistance from police and MNDF, so there won’t be any criminal charges against him.

I have received video and audio of Hawks Akshaf Ashfaq, (nephew of diplomatic passport holder Hawks Ashraf and Hawks Aman). The video shows Akshaf attacking a woman he dated, inside a car on a Malaysian highway. She films it and tries to get out. After the incident in the car, he became extremely angry and called her later that night, threatening her with highly abusive language. The audio recording captures that call. He also assaulted her in front of her children too. He manipulated her, then began abusing her and later raped her. Thank God she’s got away from him now. People, women, need to see these footages and audio, that’s why I’m sharing it now. That is not the end of it. He also groomed a 12 year old child when he was 18 (I have photos of them as well). He continues to harass her (now she is an adult), repeatedly finding her contact details, calling her and even threatening her. ISU) running towards the young woman, grabbing her and holding her hostage. Asham quickly gets on the motorbike and speeds towards them to rescue her. By this point, Isu is shirtless. Isu then approaches the motorbike and attempts to crash it and bring Asham to the ground, but he is unsuccessful. Asham is more skilled on the motorbike than Isu anticipated. The young woman appears frozen in shock and slowly walks away from Isu. Asham circles around cleverly to draw Isu away from her. He then speeds towards Isu, makes light contact and continues circling, creating a valuable opportunity for the woman to move further away and increase the distance between them. After a few seconds, Asham accelerates towards the woman and picks her up. Isu moves close to her, half sits on the ground and waits for Asham to approach again, hoping to attack him. As he tries, Asham delivers a kick, quickly speeds away with the woman and successfully escapes the scene. This is precisely what any decent man would do in such circumstances. Asham had no assistance whatsoever, yet he handled the extremely difficult situation with great intelligence and composure, even after being repeatedly attacked by Isu. I respect Geela, but this is unacceptable. Addu dialect is Maldivian language. Rather than responding in a mocking tone, the you could simply have asked Abdulla Sodiq(Sobe') to repeat the question. In UK Parliament, cabinet ministers ask Scottish MPs to repeat their questions, sometimes more than once, when they struggle with strong Scottish accents. No one considers this disrespectful, it is a normal courtesy. Majlis exists to ensure ministers respond to questions from citizens, who are represented by their MPs. Dismissing a question by claiming not to understand it is unacceptable. The appropriate response would have been to politely ask Sobe to repeat the question more slowly, or to request that it be asked in official Dhivehi if necessary. Neither was done. Language must never be used as an excuse in Majlis to dodge legitimate questions.
