“Hard to manage young men.” “Something probably set her off.” That’s what a Florida judge just said after a mother beat her 12-year-old son with a hammer and pepper sprayed him in the face. Last Thursday in Opa-locka, Shkebia Lynettee Stanley, 37, a former corrections sergeant, suddenly stopped the car, pulled a hammer she kept in the vehicle, and started hitting her son in the back seat. No warning. He blocked the blows with his arm. Then she grabbed pepper spray and emptied it in his face. He got the door open, ran to his dad’s apartment, and police found him in the shower trying to wash it off, shaking and scared. She told officers nothing happened. She still smelled like pepper spray. The judge said she doesn’t know what would possess a mother to do this, then immediately started looking for reasons not to treat it like what it is. We keep seeing this. When a father does it he’s a monster. When a mother does it she snapped, the boy was hard, something set her off, counseling is better than jail 🙄 A 12-year-old is not a young man who needed managing. He is a child who got attacked by his mother. And every time we make room for that excuse, we tell the next kid the same thing.

She turned down a White friend’s wedding because the guests might “unalive” her. Then she posted the text like it was bravery. That is not grief. That is a racial insult dressed up as self-care. Lynching is not sweeping America. A reception hall is not Jim Crow. Nolan Wells died after a July 4 boat trip on Horn Island. Officials first said no obvious trauma and suspected drowning. His family wants answers. His friends, including Black friends, told the country to stop turning it into a race hunt. An open case is not permission to smear a bride. Most murder in this country is inside the same race. The fear she is selling does not match how violence actually works. Normal people know that. They do not treat an entire race like a lynch mob because they are not racists and they are not cowards. She called her friend’s people “crackers.” Said she would not be “defenseless” at their wedding. Said White spaces will “potentially unalive you.” Then asked if she was wrong. Yes. If someone writes that about your family, she is not a friend. She brought a eulogy to a celebration. I would never speak to her again. Not because I am fragile. Because I do not keep people who look at my wedding and see a crime scene.

More precisely, Alec Iurato, a Bristol, Connecticut police officer who was inducted into the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame in 2023 National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame receiving the Courage in Service Award. Allegations are baseless..like one claiming sex trafficking at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes from 1995–1996, even though Trump didn't purchase the property until 2002 and the course didn't open until 2006. 🙄 Mere presence at parties or on flights decades ago does not equal guilt under sex trafficking law 18 USC 1591 requires proof of knowing participation. Lieu is hyping raw unverified tips for political gain to incite anger toward Trump. Dangerous irresponsible.
