We are grateful to the Almighty for preserving the life of our youth who had the misfortune of being involved in a car accident in which 2 lives were lost. (May their Soul Rest in Eternal Peace) . Although Spilo Marime broke both his hands in the accident, his life was saved. He is recuperating well while receiving medical treatment in hospital. To God be the glory for his mercies endures forever.

I have seen and truly appreciate the messages and concerns regarding our Annual Christmas Day Gala. After engaging and consulting with our stakeholders, we have this year taken a conscious decision to redirect our funds and resources towards repairing school roofs that were damaged by winds. As things stand, more than six schools were affected and work is already underway. We are working against time to ensure that by the time schools open, our children return to safe and decent learning spaces. While the Christmas Day Gala is close to our hearts, we believe that responding to this urgent need is the right thing to do at this moment. To our artists, this annual event has always been a smile bearer and a platform for your incredible work. We want to assure you that once this urgent need has been fully attended to, we will revert and deliver another great event even bigger and better. We thank you for your understanding, your continued support and your shared commitment to the wellbeing of our children. We wish you and your families a happy and peaceful holiday season.

Congratulations to the inaugural graduates of the Youth Service in Zimbabwe program! Launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on May 24, 2024, this initiative promotes discipline, patriotism, and a hopeful future for our youth. We celebrate the transformative journeys of individuals who've overcome challenges like drug abuse, now embodying resilience and strength. It's encouraging to see graduates integrating into government departments, applying their skills to contribute to Zimbabwe's growth. Together, we're shaping a brighter future for Zimbabwe. As the Minister responsible for Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, I have come across videos showing the demolition of houses, and it is truly heartbreaking to see families crying in the streets after working so hard to provide shelter for their loved ones. I am concerned that the full social and human impact of these actions may not have been adequately considered. Decisions of this nature have far-reaching consequences and can easily overshadow the tremendous work being done by our Government under the leadership of His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa. As leaders, we must always be mindful that our actions reflect on the broader vision and reputation of our leadership. This is a sensitive matter, and at this stage, I am not fully informed of all the facts surrounding these demolitions. I will therefore engage the relevant authorities to better understand the circumstances involved and the processes that were followed. I have also noted with concern the growing activities of land barons who illegally sell land and settle unsuspecting citizens on unapproved developments. These criminal elements are causing immense suffering to families and contributing to situations such as the one we are witnessing today. They must be identified, arrested, and brought to justice to protect innocent citizens from losing their hard-earned investments. Regardless of political affiliation, the suffering of our people should concern us all. While the law must be respected and upheld, it must also be applied proactively and humanely. If developments are unlawful, intervention should take place before families invest their life savings and establish homes, not after they have settled and built their lives. It is painful to witness such scenes. Our duty as leaders is to protect our citizens, uphold the law with fairness and compassion, and safeguard the good reputation of the leadership and Government we serve. Let us always put the welfare and dignity of our people at the centre of our decisions.
