He tells this story like he was the victim. But what actually happened? A boy entered the girls’ restroom, the girls objected, security got involved, and he was outraged that girls did not just accept his self declaration over what they could plainly see. That is the entire issue. Girls deserve private spaces where they do not have to explain, apologize, or be pushed out for recognizing biological reality. Pronouns and language are not harmless when they are used to erase the boundary that protects women and girls. “If gay men don’t date me, does that mean I’m not male?” No, sir. It means gay men, like everyone else, have individual preferences. Apparently straight men now need a public re-education campaign to stop noticing sex. You are free to be attracted to whoever you are attracted to. A 6’2”, 180-pound male says his “safety privileges” were revoked after identifying as a woman. In this video, I break down the linguistic switch being made here: ordinary advice about walking alone at 2 a.m. is being reframed as proof that identity changes sex-based vulnerability. Presentation can affect how strangers treat you. Everyone should use common sense about late-night safety.
