This is the collapse of merit, accountability and public trust in the healthcare system. Lakhs of deserving students sacrifice years of their lives for these exams, only to watch the system reward mediocrity while punishing hard work. When a patient enters an operation theatre, they don’t ask for category, politics or vote banks. They pray for competence. Healthcare cannot survive on compromises. Kashmir is running out of people and nobody is talking about it. In 1991 the average Kashmiri woman had 3.6 children. Today? Just 1.4. The sharpest fertility decline in all of India. In just 15 years. Late marriages. Rising divorces. Bachelorhood. Stress. Infertility. This is not just a social shift, this is a demographic emergency. If this trend continues in 20 years Kashmir will have fewer workers, a weaker economy and an aging population with no one to support it. Watch. Think. Share. 85 candidates were selected in JKAS 2025 and from the entire Kashmir division , the heartland of this region, the land that has given Jammu & Kashmir its identity, its language, its culture only 12 to 13 names made it to that list. And just 5 to 6 who are Kashmiri speaking Not 60. Not 30. Not even 20. Six. And before you say it’s a coincidence, look at 2021. Look at 2023. Look at the pattern that has been quietly building year after year, result after result, while we stayed silent. These are not just numbers on a government document, these are the children of Kashmir who studied through load-shedding, who prepared without coaching institutes, without networks, without privilege, who sacrificed years of their lives believing that merit would be enough and on result day, their names simply weren’t there. We voted in 2024. We gave our trust, our mandate, our hope to an elected government our own government believing that someone would finally look at these imbalances and feel the weight of them. But today I am asking that government directly where is Kashmir in your priorities? Because when an entire valley of millions produces only 6 civil servants in a combined selection of 85, that is not a failure of our children that is a failure of the system that was supposed to serve them. Share this. Tag your representative. Ask the question out loud because silence at this point is not neutrality. Silence is complicity.

I filed an RTI on a JKAS EWS selection and the reply I got will shock you. The candidate’s family income as per official records is 7,79,000 just 21,000 short of the 8 lakh ceiling. Their house is 2,800 square feet but divided among 4 brothers so it qualifies. And the father? A Senior Revenue Official posted in the very same tehsil that issued the EWS certificate. JKPSC Physics Lecturer selection list is out. I went through every category, EWS, ST, SC, ALC. Not a single Kashmiri. ST zero Kashmiris. SC zero. ALC , zero. And this is not some private company rejecting our youth. This is J&K Public Service Commission. A government body. Accountable to the people of J&K. Accountable to Omar Abdullah’s government. Kashmir has no private sector. No corporate hiring. No IT industry. Government job is not a preference here, it is the only option. And even that one option is being systematically taken away. Who is issuing these EWS certificates? On what basis? Is there any verification happening or is it just kagaz banta hai, kaam ho jaata hai? We want justice.

A senior government official’s family gets an Economically Weaker Section certificate. I filed an RTI asking for proof. They sent me a single income figure and nothing else. No salary slips. No supporting documents. Just a number small enough to qualify, conveniently. The system didn’t fail here. The system worked exactly as some people wanted it to and while they grab seats meant for the poor, the ones who actually have nothing, no connections, no influence, no one to call are left outside, waiting for a system that was never really built for them. We want justice. Requesting J&K Anti Corruption Bureau to take cognisance of this matter.

For 135 years Urdu has been the backbone of revenue administration in Jammu & Kashmir, every Jamabandi, every Girdawari, every land record written in it. JKSSB’s own official notification mandated Graduation with knowledge of Urdu for Naib Tehsildar till last year . It wasn’t arbitrary, it was history, it was functionality, it was identity. Then came a notification yesterday in which they said Urdu jaaye Baad mai. Thank you Omar Sahaab for this wonderful gift.
