"The Program" is NUMBER ONE on Netflix! We plan to use our social media feeds this week to spotlight posts and stories from survivors of institutional abuse. This effort is to honor those who have endured such abuse under the pretense of "education" or "treatment," including experiences of restraint and seclusion. We invite you to view Caroline Cole’s posts (ICARS Special Advisor) on TikTok at She is one of the many survivors of Ivy Ridge which is featured in the docuseries. We will also highlight other survivors in our upcoming posts over the next days. We kindly ask that supporters of modification programs refrain from engaging or attempting to recruit any of the survivors we feature for their own purposes and agenda’s. We are highly alert to individuals and entities who employ such tactics. Behavior modification, no matter the acronym, is still behavior modification. These individuals deserve respect, time for reflection, and healing from the trauma caused by the behavior modification they endured. That includes but is not limited to the PBS’er ABA’ers and training programs who teach restraint practices.
