Someone messaged to say please watch the introduction of This Morning today as it wound them up no end and yeah, the stories of cold water shock is always tragic, but the way it was framed that schools closing could be blamed for it, call me radical, but as a parent you can also

This is not a drill... 🚨 Calling all teachers and school staff... have you checked your Blue Light Card recently? 👀 It’s been two years since bluelightcard opened up their discounts to teachers and the wider education community, which means lots of memberships are now due

If you haven’t yet watched Adolescence on Netflix, please do it’s brilliant! If you have watched it, what were your thoughts on how the secondary school was depicted? If you work in secondary I’d love to know how accurate you thought it was.

I’ve had so many messages from teachers over the weekend about this TV advert from Robinsons and I’d love to know your thoughts? Are we as teachers right to be annoyed at how it completely undermines us when so many schools are really struggling with behaviour?

This might be controversial to say, but do you think we might be overdoing the whole leaving primary school thing? Just the big emotional send off with all the different events, is it actually for the benefit of the kids and can it do more harm than good?

On Loose Women today they were talking about teachers having a bit more flexibility despite the holidays. We’re living in a world where more and more jobs are hybrid, flexible and built around real life. Teaching is one of the few professions that hasn’t moved with the times.

I know this tragic story of Katie has hit the whole profession hard. It’s so sad we’ve lost another incredible teacher because of a system obsessed with inspecting everything apart from the wellbeing of the people working in it. How many more times does this have to happen?

Given the weather forecast this week, there’s a lot of discussion about introducing a maximum temperature limit in schools, a cap on how warm it can be. Which is all when and good, but what actually happens when it reaches that limit?
