Yet since the beginning of the year, 28 of our volunteers and staff have died or been killed while performing their humanitarian duties. In such a short time period, this is among the highest levels of global violence against National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ teams that we’ve ever experienced. The IFRC is calling for immediate and urgent action to protect humanitarian volunteers and staff around the world.
