Coding agents are tools for describing and manipulating the world, not just software. I left Qwen3.8-Max running all day with the goal of generating a five min National Geographic style documentary about Hall Beach, Nunavut, a map dot I saw on the plane home from London. It wrote a script, mixed audio, made clips and "directed" the video. I think it turned out well, and it's just so amazing that we can trivially create these beautiful artifacts of our imagination. Sound on. Shoutout OpenCode/MiniMax/FAL/Eleven!

"We're tool builders. And every tool that we've ever built has helped us progress as a human species or individually, whether it's art or the wheel or whatever. And I can't believe the scale at which we're at now. It's absolutely unbelievable. And I think what's shocking to me is that the collective has not caught on yet." lots of fun chatting with signüll!

openclaw wins on ergonomics. texting with models via imessage/whatsapp/telegram subtly sets expectations that the reply could take 5 minutes or 2 hours - the same expectation we have of humans meanwhile we expect apps and websites to be instant, which is why chatGPT has to make awkward tradeoffs between instant replies and deep thinking that's the magic of openclaw - same underlying tech, different consumer mental model

AI has ignited a consumer renaissance. My friend Kevin Rose is a legend in consumer tech. He founded a number of early internet startups, including Digg, where he invented an early predecessor to the now ubiquitous like button. He’s now a partner at True Ventures and recently relaunched Digg. We had a wide-ranging conversation on all things consumer tech, including why I think AI code will be an entire industry, why Kevin looks for “weird and working” products, Kevin’s dinners with Mark Zuckerberg, and how AI products will affect the human experience. 00:00 Intro 02:10 How we met 07:50 AI’s Renaissance for Consumer Products 11:48 Companionship apps and the future of human connection 14:01 The optimistic and pessimistic views on AI relationships 19:18 Poke and emotional primitives 21:05 Weird and working: how to spot great founders 30:05 AI companions and AI in relationships 40:08 The modern AI dev stack and building apps solo 47:25 AI music, creativity, and the next cultural wave 53:50 Curiosity, risk, and finding the next big thing 01:15:00 Always-on recording and social norms in tech

I asked Gemini 3 Pro to redesign my wine app with a masonry grid, scroll-triggered physics animations, and interactive card expansion. In one shot it nailed the responsive layout, the "heavy drop" entrance effects, and threw in some neat zoom-on-hover effects. The web is about to get a lot more visually interesting ...

"the pyramid of work" - really interesting framework from the HappyRobot ceo Pablo Palafox: - at the bottom, repeatable low hanging fruit. at the top, complex + strategic decision-making - context is captured by doing work - and you gotta start at the bottom and work your way up the complexity chain - and at the top there is context inside the CEO's head that would lead to step change improvement at every layer if the agent had it this is why 1) enterprise agents will be a compounding gains market 2) the goal should be to intermediate the most important interacts that happen in a business, not own "customer support" or "sales" or whatever loved this conversation with pablo and Luis Paarup
