"If NASA and United States can not beat the Chinese back to the moon, then the moon belongs to the Chinese, and we get what we deserve." You don't want to miss this interview. I met Casey Handmer (Casey Handmer) while flying fighter jets in Montana. I Immediately I knew he had a story to tell. Turns out he wants to tile the United States in solar panels, and use that power to generate rocket fuel and clean water for tens of millions of people. Basically to re-invent American industry. In this interview Casey discusses the innovative pursuits of his company Terraform Industries. He reflects on his previous roles at NASA and JPL, where he was frustrated with the inefficiencies and lack of innovation in traditional institutions. Handmer discusses the importance of ambition, self-awareness, curiosity, and practical experience in hiring and developing talent at Terraform. To fully understand the scope of Casey’s ambitions, you should visit his blog where he discusses things like Mars helicopters and desalination to support a new mega city in California. 00:00:00 - 00:00:17 Geopolitical Stakes: US vs. China in Space Race 00:00:17 - 00:01:17 Interview Introduction: Casey's Background and Topics 00:01:17 - 00:03:10 Podcast Setup and Welcome to Terraform Industries 00:03:10 - 00:04:40 Building History and Manufacturing Interest 00:04:40 - 00:07:17 Meeting at Hangar Event and Aircraft Engineering 00:07:17 - 00:20:45 Early Life: Hands-On Building and Career Path 00:20:45 - 00:40:00 Founding Terraform: Synthetic Fuels Vision and Prototypes 00:40:00 - 01:00:00 Technology Deep Dive: Solar to Hydrocarbons and Scaling 01:00:00 - 01:20:00 Energy Geopolitics and US Reindustrialization 01:20:00 - 01:40:00 Team Building, Hiring Philosophy, and Company Culture 01:40:00 - 02:00:00 Hardware vs. Software Challenges and Entrepreneur Advice 02:00:00 - 02:22:24 Future Visions: Desalination and New Cities 02:22:24 - 02:36:39 Closing Call to Action and Thanks

"When Elon Musk started out doing rockets in 2002, he didn't know anything. Right? He showed up to like random space conferences and like cornered people and asked them questions in his usual way. And they're like, I don't know. And then he'd say, who knows? And then you find that person. Right. And he'd say, give me your reading list. And then he'd just read all the textbooks. And then I think he read them all in German and Russian too. And then he started building spreadsheets, you know all businesses begin as spreadsheets, and then he started hiring these world experts and then pestering them. And they said within 18 months or two years, he knew everything. not everything, obviously, he's still learning now, but like, he went from not knowing anything to knowing more than like most of the candidates he deal with."

Grok 3 was just released. You won't believe it, I've already created a game. (I got early access THIS MORNING). This game was 100% created by GROK, I just told it what I wanted, and put the code in the right place. I just keep asking for adjustments, and it keeps spitting the game out in a single file that I can put on my desktop and run. The game is changed forever. I've been developing a lot with AI's from every other major AI builder lately, trying to decide what I like best, and grok is a PLAYER. I don't have official benchmarks, and I don't have API setup yet so it's not my normal workflow, but it felt every bit as capable as Sonet, 4o, or anything else. In the next day or so I'll get it set up as part of my workflow in NVIM and put it to real work. This is incredible. We live in the future. Everyone is a developer now.

"Elon attracts you know fans and critics and sometimes that that clouds the the great progress they're making at SpaceX. People kind of create these narratives like you know evil billionaire um taking over mars as if there's a gold rush there or oil the mine you know like there there is no economic benefit of sending people to Mars. The the reason you do it is cause it's for the good of all of humankind. It is a it is a fact that had humans existed during various phases of Earth's evolution we would have been wiped out in an extinction level event. Everything that we stood to to learn or accomplish in this world would have been extinguished in a second. So it didn't work out well for the dinosaurs , we had the technical means to go out and um open up this last frontier for the benefit of everyone, and and that's what Elon and SpaceX is trying to do with Starship." --- Jared Isaacman (Jared Isaacman) Full interview drops tomorrow morning.

SpaceX Astronaut, Engineer, and Medical Officer Anna Menon (Anna Menon) played a critical role in the recent and historic Polaris Dawn mission (Polaris). Anna and her crewmates reached the highest orbit since the last Apollo flight in 1972, more than 50 years ago. They also depressurized the Dragon Capsule and performed the first commercial spacewalk before returning safely to Earth.

I BUILT THIS GAME WITH GROK Check this out haha. Planet X. This world will be an ode to X personalities and history and lore. It's online, persistent, and I have some really cool ideas to make it fun and social that I will add with time. The three first bad guys in the game are angry protestors, ghosts of legacy media, and Angry Obsessed Congresswoman or AOC. An art piece if you will. Built completely by me. I've always dreamed about building a game like this, but before AI, it was far too time consuming. Now I can have grok think and code many of the details. I can even use grok to help me create the art. I my goal is to make this available to subscribers this weekend. People who play during the alpha and beta will get access to exclusive items that will only be available before launch. They will also get to use some paid features for free. Who wants to join?
