On Human Rights Day, I raised a clear message in Parliament: the Kashmiri people have a birth right to self-determination, and they have been denied it for far too long. Successive governments have made promises but failed to act. Kashmir is not a bilateral dispute — it is an international issue rooted in international law, and the UK must have the moral courage to recognise that and uphold its obligations. Kashmiris deserve justice, dignity and the right to decide their own future.
