The UK's leniency towards Hindutva extremists can be attributed to their favorable relationship with India and its leader, Modi. This group of troublemakers has now taken to terrorizing Sikhs on a global scale. The decision of Sikhs to align with Congress in 1947 is seen as a misstep; otherwise, they might have established their own independent state by now.
