Earlier today, IDF dropped notes on Shati "refugee camp" west Gaza City, warning residents to vacate south immediately because IDF was going to strike Hamas terrorists there. In response, the young men of the neighborhood marched in the streets chanting that they wouldn't leave and that they were "the men of Mohammed Deif" (Hamas chief terrorist). So be it. #HamasisISIS

Abu al-Abed shows us the quality beef ("butter") he is preparing for Thursday shawarma at his Gaza City restaurant. A shawarma wrap for 25 shekels. You may remember Abu al-Abed making cheese from UN powdered milk aid during the war. At the time, his restaurant was closed, but his grocery store did excellent business all through the war. A short while ago, a Hamas military affiliated channel released this footage from somewhere in the Gaza Strip, which they say is the execution of Fatah "agents". The message is clear: a. Despite Hamas' lack of resistance to IDF conquest of Rafah Border Crossing, they are still in control. b. Any attempt to bring in Palestinian Authority instead of Hamas* will fail. *USA - FYI.

What if you discovered that everything you knew about Gaza was wrong? This is what happened to me in 2018, when I stumbled on a video on social media, made by ordinary Gazans, displaying a middle class standard of living that I didn't realise was possible. This ultimately led to #TheGazaYouDontSee, where I share linked and timestamped social media content from Gaza, that challenges the common conception of life there. Obviously things have changed a lot for Gazans since Hamas invaded Israel on October 7 2023, but still, what I see on Gazan social media differs greatly from the picture shown by news outlets the world over. Here is a short video I created in 2022 giving a glimpse of the extreme inequality in allocation of resources that is so startling in Gaza, especially considering that their economy relies heavily on aid and donations.

There is a HUGE nuclear fallout shelter under Tel Aviv Central Bus Station, in the South Tel Aviv neighborhood which is home to a lot of African migrant workers & asylum seekers. So it is actually non-white non-Jewish citizens who have access to the BEST shelter in the country!!

Bariq Al-Sa'ada Company, Sahaba St. Gaza City is selling whole chickens for 30 shekels per kg, the official Hamas Ministry of Finance price. Hi, I'm Imshin. In 2018 I began following Gazan social media, watching videos filmed and posted by Gazans living in Gaza. I discovered a middle class and a wealthy class living in comfort and plenty, not suffering from the shortages that one would expect from a blockade. I saw well-stocked supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants, and villas with swimming pools. I saw wealthy and connected Gazans #leavingGaza to go on vacations in Egypt, Turkey and other places, and then returning to Gaza. I also saw poverty and deprivation, clearly a result of inequal distribution of wealth (i.e. stolen billions in foreign aid), not of external pressures. And I saw attempts to uprise against ruling Hamas which were brutally suppressed. Since the Hamas invasion of Israel from Gaza on Oct 7 - in which they raped, tortured, butchered, burnt alive and abducted Israeli civilians, including infants and the elderly - I have been closely following the wartime living conditions of Gazans, as documented by the Gazans themselves, with an emphasis on their food situation. 1/ I've been wondering why Gazans haven't been erecting sand barriers and digging simple drainage canals to prevent flooding of tent camps. Turns out some have been doing just that. Half way through this video they show a spot which they say was previously a big puddle when it rained, and now has a simple but effective drainage system to drain the water away. Gazan man tells Al-Arabiya TV (a Saudi station) that Hamas does not care about the people. He is angry that Gaza City, and by extention all the Gaza Strip, is being destroyed for 20 Israeli hostages.
