I love it when people flexing their firearms on social media accidently turns into something educational. Jaspreet Singh demonstrates the correct way to carry a licenced handgun in an OWB holster. Rule 32 of the Arms Rules, 2016 is very clear: a firearm must remain completely covered. That means even if it's in a holster, it should not be visible from the outside. In this example, he's using an oversized button-up shirt to conceal it. A jacket or coat works just as well.

In-case you didn't know. There are documented injuries and occasional deaths from falling .22LR bullets, but it is also true that smaller and lighter bullets like .22LR generally carry less energy than larger handgun rounds (.32 ACP, .45 ACP, etc) when falling back down. But does that make it any less illegal? Rule 32(3) of the Arms Rules, 2016 prohibits celebratory firing, and violations carry serious consequences. For the curious, that is the Werywin 15-22 rifle chambered in .22LR. India's first AR-15 platform rifle designed specifically for civilian use. ⚠️ Disclaimer: Civilian firearm ownership in India is strictly regulated. All firearms and calibers require a valid NPB arms licence and full compliance with applicable laws.

Three words I would use to describe this: Reckless. Illegal. Hypocritical. The MHA’s own official FAQ on Arms Rules, 2016 repeat: “Brandishing or discharge of firearms … in any public place … is strictly prohibited.” Why is it unsafe? → 7.62×39mm bullet fired straight up can travel 2–3 km high, then falls back at terminal velocity, lethal enough to kill or seriously injure anyone it hits on the way down. It can land hundreds of metres away, hitting random people, vehicles, or houses. This is a direct & clear prohibition of Rule 32(3). Even police officers are bound by these rules (no exemption exists for celebratory firing). ‼️Not tagging any police department or naming anyone specific. This is being talked about purely because it’s unsafe. It has nothing to do with politics, state, or religion. ⚠️ Disclaimer: Civilian ownership is strictly regulated. All firearms and calibers require a valid NPB arms licence and compliance with local laws.
