Yesterday’s flight to SYD ended up taking us 1 hour longer due to bad wx over the city/airport. We started slowing down a few hundred miles out per ATC request and ended up holding for 29min before we commenced our approach into SYD. After all these years I finally got to land on Rwy 07. With Starlink we were able to pull up FR24 to see if other aircraft were making it into SYD. Saw quite a few that made it in but also saw and heard on the radio that quite a few were already diverting. Definitely gives you good situational awareness. Had a good debriefing at the the Thai restaurant with a few cold refreshments 🤙🏼

Yesterday the kid wakes me up and says “Can you take me plane spotting this morning? The F-22’s will be doing the missing man formation for the ceremony at the Punchbowl”. Guess he wanted to watch them take off🤷🏻‍♂️ Punchbowl is The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific That’s 2 days in a row we went plane spotting 🤣

Come on @delta you can do better than this. This is so amateurish. If you want your pax to fill out the Hawaii Agricultural forms, have the FAs walk through the cabin with a QR code like other airlines do.

You can customize the area, track specific flights, and see details like altitude, speed, and route—it’s basically like having a mini ATC display at home. ( Now I’m seriously considering upgrading to the widescreen version. If you’re into aviation at all, this thing is legit.🤙🏼

An incredible look at the human side of aviation and what the Spirit Airlines crews and employees are going through. Huge respect to Steve Giordano and Bob Allen for sharing these stories with all of us. Aviation is more than airplanes — it’s people, families, and livelihoods.

Heading back to Hawaii this early morning. We are using Rwy 1L with flaps 3. Flight time is only 5:20 and we are expecting to shoot the LDA 26L approach for the reef runway. Definitely a great view for our pax on the right hand side of the aircraft.
