Hmmm! Chris Ante, the President of Youth Wing of the Oron Union, is dead? This man (seen on face cap and jacket asking me who my father is in Akwa Ibom State) led thugs in 2017 to attack me and other peaceful protestors at the Akwa Ibom State Laison office in Lagos during our protest against the wasteful and senseless construction of a new Akwa Ibom Governor’s lodge in Lagos State by Udom Emmanuel. They disrupted the protest, journalists were not spared. Life is really transient. May God forgive his transgressions. We will all be gone some day, we should live a purposeful, honest and conscientious life while on earth.

We were all so exhausted last night while at Zone 7 Police Headquarters in Abuja demanding the release from custody of Ms. Love Dooshima, the business woman who made a review of an unnamed bread. She was brought out from the police cell at about 12:30AM this morning. The IGP intervened and directed the team leader in charge of the investigation to come from his home and ensure her release. Bon Bread should learn from history, that’s my simple advice for the company. Kudos to TUNJI DISU Cheers to Aliyu Giwa

In life, there are incredible moments and experiences that words alone cannot perfectly describe. At the opening of the new head office of Inibehe Effiong Chambers yesterday in Lagos, we had the pleasure of hosting Hon. Justice Oludotun Adefope-Okojie (Rtd), a reputable and foremost jurist who retired from the Court of Appeal of Nigeria, as our Special Guest of Honour. We were equally delighted to host my mentor, respected human rights lawyer and former President of the West African Bar Association, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, as the Chairman of the occasion. Mr. Olumide-Fusika, SAN also registered his presence. The Chairman of the Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Quadri Adeniyi, was in attendance. The Head Steward of the Layers of Truth Church International, Pastor Adedoyin Akerele came all the way from Kaduna and prayed for the firm. Mr. Geoffrey Uzono of Channels Television was also with us. Popular political cartoonist, Mike Asukwo also graced the occasion. Our courageous Precious Oruche, popularly known as MamaPee, came from Abuja to celebrate with us, amongst other respected and prominent friends of our firm. We were only able to invite a handful of people due to time constraint. Oga Yenne is the brain behind this video. Contact him if you need a reliable videographer in Lagos. He’s available to travel to other places. We are eternally grateful to all our esteemed guests for making the event memorable. History will vindicate the just.

SEVEN HOURS AFTER, POLICEMEN SENT BY IGP CONTINUES TO LAY SIEGE ON HOME OF CHIOMA OKOLI OVER ERISCO TOMATO REVIEW Armed policemen are still laying siege on the private residence of Chioma Edoka Okoli more than seven hours after they invaded her home. They’ve called for reinforcement are waiting for orders from the IGP to break into her home at Sangotedo where she is living with her baby and re-arrest. They have not produced any court order authorizing them to re-arrest Chioma. This is the result of years of lawlessness and impunity in the country. The IGP has overruled the order made on November 8, 2023 by Hon. Justice Bogoro of the Federal High Court in Lagos that my client must not be re-arrested or detained except on the express order of a court of competent jurisdiction if she is served with a summons and she fails to appear in court. They have not served Chioma with any summons or charge. They secretly filed a charge against her at the Federal High Court in Abuja (instead of Lagos where the case arose) which pending before Hon. Justice A. R. Mohammed. When the case in Abuja came up on 7th December, 2023, the police told the court that they were unable to serve her with the charge (this is a lie because she was never in hiding and no attempt was made to serve her). The police counsel then applied for adjournment to enable them file a motion to get leave (permission) to serve Chioma with the charge by substituted means. The case was adjourned to tomorrow 10th January, 2024 for the said motion. Justice Mohammed did not make any order for the arrest of Chioma. Indeed, the court said the issue of arrest warrant does not arise since the Defendant had not been served with the charge. Instead of going back to court to get the leave to serve her with the charge, the IGP ordered his men this morning to raid the house of my client and forcefully arrest her without a court order. How can the police file a charge in court and still disregard the orders of the same court? Is the IGP working for ERISCO FOODS LIMITED and Chief Eric Umeofia? The policemen in large numbers are still laying siege on the house. The head of the team told me pointedly that he can’t obey a court order when the IGP has given him a contrary directive. He said the PSO to the IGP called him directly. Is Nigeria a banana republic?

I had to respond to the comments of the son of the Late MKO Abiola, Mr Jamiu, on Channels TV last night. His comparison of Buhari, and now Tinubu, with his late father is problematic for me and makes one to wonder what Abiola’s actual vision for Nigeria was. History will vindicate the just.

I spoke briefly yesterday at the 67th Birthday Anniversary Summit of respected journalist and activist, Mr. Richard Akinnola, held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos with the theme: Handshake Across the Niger: “The Yoruba/Igbo Detente”. This year’s summit was designed to address the growing tribal tensions between the Igbos and the Yorubas in Lagos. I stand by my position that the demonic and poisonous tribalism we are currently seeing is politically motivated, it is meant to keep the APC in power. Nigerians should focus on the leadership failures we’re witnessing, and reject the tribal politics that is destroying our country.

We now live in a country where someone is publicly stripped, paraded publicly, forced to kneel and apologize publicly in front of a palace because he ‘insulted’ the king. The Oba of Benin is a revered king. He has a responsibility to uphold the sanctity of not only his throne, but the dignity of his people, including the dignity of those who disagree with him or offend him. Humiliating a citizen in this manner does not bring glory to the palace or the king, it diminishes the prestige of the Oba and his throne. We should not allow thuggery to define the very respected crown of the Oba of Benin. If the Oba does not disavow this crude and primitive action, it will send a wrong and dangerous message. I do not know Dr. Pedro Obaseki. I’m not familiar with whatever he may have said or done that offended some people. I don’t care about the underlying politics. But no citizen should be humiliated in this manner. The Nigeria Police Force has a responsibility to act in this case. The culprits should be dealt with according to law.

Some politically correct people from Akwa Ibom State and other parts of Nigeria are displeased with the post I made yesterday about the late Chris Ante. They are accusing me of mocking the dead, and questioning why I should revisit events that took place in 2017. I didn’t mock the deceased. I actually prayed that God should forgive his transgressions. However, I detest the hypocrisy of some Nigerians. Since some people think they can use emotional blackmail to whitewash the legacy of a man who unleashed violence on me and other citizens for expressing our constitutional rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, I am posting this news report for the world to judge. In this video which I deliberately did not post yesterday, you can see Chris Ante on face cap and jacket. He never apologized to me and other victims of this attack. This was an eyewitness report by TVC on the attack unleashed on me and other Akwa Ibom people when we converged at the Akwa Ibom State Laison Office in Lagos to protest the insane and irresponsible decision of UDOM Emmanuel to waste billions of public funds to construct a new Governor’s Lodge in Lagos. Myself and other protesters sustained injuries, journalists weren’t spared. They violently disrupted a peaceful protest. Many years after, what has Akwa Ibom gained from the new lodge which Chris Ante and his thugs attacked us for? If you live a life of thuggery, corruption and oppression, it is foolhardy for you to expect that the day you die, everyone, including your victims, will suddenly forget your atrocities. I made that post to remind everyone to live a life of purpose, honesty and good conscience. If you want positive tributes upon your demise, live honourably. If you spend your lifetime defending corrupt politicians and attacking innocent people, the day you die, your misdeeds will be remembered. Everyone will die, but we must be honest about the legacy of the dead so that the living can introspect and learn appropriate lessons.

BREAKING: HOLD POLICE IG, ERISCO FOODS CEO RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MY PREGNANT WIFE AND CHILDREN Husband to Chioma Edoka Okoli, Mr. Chizoba Okoli, has released a video to the public narrating the trauma that his wife and children are going through due to the ongoing siege at his home in Sangotedo in Lagos State by policemen sent by the Inspector General of Police. In the short video clip, Mr. Chizoba revealed that his wife is pregnant and that his little children who were supposed to resume school today could not do so as result of the house arrest that his family has been subjected to. He also stated that their cooking gas finished last night and that his pregnant wife and little children have not been able to prepare food and eat since morning because the ongoing siege at their home by the policemen. Chizoba wondered what crime his wife has committed to warrant the current harassment by the IGP, despite the subsistence of an order made by the Federal High Court in Lagos that she should not be arrested. He said the IGP and the CEO of ERISCO FOODS LIMITED, Chief Eric Umeofia should be held responsible if anything happens to his wife, his children and unborn child. Chioma was arrested and detained previously last year after she made a post on Facebook to review the sugar quantity of a tomato she purchased which is manufactured by Erisco Foods Limited. She later sued the police and Erisco at the Federal High Court and secured a restraining order.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye should retire and go home. His controversial statements on the state of the nation offends the sensibilities of right thinking members of the society. In life, it is always better to know when to exit the stage. The fact that Adeboye is holding brief for this incompetent and oppressive government is a mockery of Christianity. Many people in our country have stopped going to Church due to the sickening hypocrisy and connivance of these religious leaders. Tinubu has paid billions in fuel subsidy, contrary to his public statements. Tinubu’s government has not addressed the rot and corruption in the oil sector. We are not all naive and gullible. It is preposterous for Adeboye to say that it is his prayers that has made the Naira not to depreciate further. Prayers do not have any effect on the exchange rate. Exchange rate is determined by economic and monetary policies, and the productivity of a country. Adeboye has been praying for decades for Nigeria and Nigerian politicians and things haven’t improved. It is either his prayers are not working or God is not listening to him. Some of the most corrupt and evil politicians and political leaders in our country today are disciples and followers of Pastor Adeboye. He should look himself in the mirror.
