Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she believes the United Kingdom will not exist in its current form within 10 to 20 years. A republican bonfire has been built in the middle of a main road through the Bogside area of Derry. A teenager spread gallons of hen manure on a road before Ballymena’s first Pride parade as part “of a prank,” a court has heard. Coleraine Magistrates Court also heard that Isaac Adams (19) “made full and frank admissions” to police when he was arrested. Adams, from the Lislaban Road in Cloughmills, confirmed his identity and that he understood the three charges, all alleged to have been committed on June 28.

A pilot scheme which has seen the first-ever Irish-English road signs installed in the north has been welcomed. The bilingual signage and road markings, covering bus lanes and parking information, have been placed on a stretch of the Falls Road between the Springfield Road and Whiterock Road, with implementation continuing over the coming weeks. 🎥 Dylan Hegarty

"There is definitely potential to put something here permanently." Following its resounding success during the Fleadh this week, a pop-up bar in Belfast could become a permanent fixture, according to one of the men behind it, Patrick Simpson. The Donegal Bar has been packed throughout the festival, helping to create a lively atmosphere with live music, Irish dancers and traditional entertainment drawing large crowds.

An exhibition has opened in west Belfast exploring the relationship between Irish republicanism and the gay liberation movement during the 1980s and 90s. Entitled Irish Republicanism and 'The Gays', the exhibit follows seven years of research by Dr Jeff Evans, and is a joint project between OUTing the Past International Festival of LGBT History, The Museum of Free Derry and Áras Uí Chonghaile. It is available to view in Áras Uí Chonghaile until Saturday, July 25 before moving to the Museum of Free Derry in August. 🎥 Dylan Hegarty

The funeral of senior IRA figure Brendan 'Bik' McFarlane was held in Belfast on Tuesday with large crowds gathering on the Cliftonville Road. He died aged 74 after a short illness on Friday. McFarlane was the officer in command of the H-Block prisoners during the 1981 hunger strike over conditions in the Maze and among 38 IRA inmates who escaped from the prison in 1983. Former Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams joined mourners for the mass of the republican who was jailed for an attack on the Bayardo Bar on the Shankill Road. Five people were killed and 60 others injured.

St Mary's Parish this week opened The Foggy Brew, a not-for-profit venture that will help fund local outreach initiatives. Belfast business leader Chris McCracken has posed the idea of new all-purpose sports stadium, which could be built beside Belfast Grand Central Station, after Casement Park's plans were scaled back. McCracken, managing director of the Linen Quarter BID, believes there is the potential for Belfast to construct a venue similar to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, which could yield hundreds of millions of pounds of economic benefit.
