It's been a week since my Fibroid surgery (Open Myomectomy). I've always had painful periods, but it got much worse in 2014 when I woke up one day in a pool of blood. Since then, life has been hard. I sometimes bleed for weeks, there are times I fainted. I couldn't even leave my house when I am on my period. I lost so much blood that I became anemic. I was always weak, tired, and had joint pains. I lived on painkillers and tried herbal remedies recommended by family and friends, but none of them helped. In June 2023, I woke up with severe pain and tightness in my tummy. The fibroid had grown so much that it was pressing on my organs. That's when my journey to finally becoming free started. On Monday (25th of September 2023) at about 8:30 am, we had the surgery. I did my surgery at Nisa Premier Hospital (Nisa Hospital). I want to sincerely thank God, Dr. Marcos (he always made me laugh), and all the other doctors who made this surgery a success. If you are battling with Fibroid, don’t be scared. There are good hospitals where you can take it out, please do your research. Don’t suffer in silence ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Earlier today, I went back home to Owan, Edo North. Standing with my leaders in Owan East and Owan West, alongside the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, we came together in one voice to support Hon. Andrew Ijegbai as he declares for the House of Representatives. From top to bottom, it is APC. Under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Monday Okpebholo Senator Monday Okpebholo, we want someone who understands this direction and will continue in the same path. The results of their work are showing, and the impact is clear.

Yesterday, through my office SA SDG EDO, I had the privilege of collaborating with the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (Edo HIS) Edo State Health Insurance Commission, led by Mrs. Augusta Ikpea-Enaholo, alongside other partners, to give back to Edo North during Ramadan. This initiative not only provided Iftar but also facilitated the enrollment of more people in health insurance, ensuring greater access to quality healthcare. A big thank you to His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his commitment to the well-being of Edo people. I also appreciate the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole; the Founder of the Paddy Iyamu Foundation, Dr. Paddy Iyamu; and A & Hatman Limited for their collaboration in making this possible. Kudos to Edo HIS for their dedication to expanding healthcare access in our state. I look forward to supporting more impactful initiatives that uplift our people and strengthen our communities. #EdoHIS #EdoMinistryofHealth #PaddyIyamuFoundation #EdoSDGs #EdoState #SallySuleiman

As we continue to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I joined the awareness walk organized by Her Excellency, Mrs. Edesiri Anani, Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady. It was a strong reminder that awareness and action must go hand in hand. As Special Adviser on SDGs, I am committed to ensuring that our collective efforts translate into real access to screening, care, and hope for women across Edo State. 💗

In honor of His Excellency’s 55th birthday, the Office of the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals joined hardworking market women to celebrate in a way that reflects his true essence: service to the people. It was a day of joy as they sang, danced, prayed, and received gifts from the Office of the SDGs, including new aprons to replace the worn-out ones they had. Beyond the celebration, it was a reminder of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo Senator Monday Okpebholo’s compassion for the people and commitment to humanity. The women, poured out their gratitude, testifying to the changes this government has brought into their lives, like soft loans for market women and the reconstruction of Oba Market. This is leadership in the spirit of the SDGs: people first, leaving no one behind. #EdoSDGs #EdoState #MondayOkpebholo #SallySuleiman
