Today is "Shabbat Hebron", an annual event where, for the past 30 years, thousands of Israelis have ventured into the heart of the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank, home to approximately 250,000 Palestinians and around 800 Israeli settlers. As part of this event, the Israeli military imposes a lockdown on large areas of the city (affecting only Palestinians, of course) for two full days. The already severely restricted freedom of movement for Palestinians is entirely suspended to accommodate this settler festival. Year after year, this event becomes a fertile ground for mass violence, with settlers destroying property and attacking Palestinians with impunity, under the protection and endorsement of the Israeli army and government. This reality cannot continue. We must end the occupation and the violence immediately. We must refuse to participate in these crimes - better to be imprisoned than to be complicit in such injustices! No one is free until we are all free✊☮️

אתמול נעצרתי באלימות רבה בהפגנה נגד רצח העם בעזה. היום בבוקר בהמתנה לדיון בבית המשפט, סוהרי השבס לקחו סוודר, ציירו עליו "עם ישראל חי!" ודגל ישראל, הכריחו אותי ללבוש אותו, צילמו אותי ואמרו לי שפעם הבאה שאעצר הם יקעקו לי מגן דוד על הפרצוף. נמשיך להתקומם למען החיים, הצדק והשוויון.

This morning, settlers arrived near the village of Maghayer Al Dir (West Bank) and set up a new outpost clearly aiming to drive the community out. The Israeli army and police are doing nothing. I canceled my plans, I'm here. Honestly, we don't know what to do anymore.
