Doug Karsch on 97.1 in Detroit yesterday said Mahomes taunted 4 times and it should’ve been 60 yards of penalties. Things he claimed Mahomes did to taunt Threw the ball at Branches feet ❌ - He spun the ball away from Branch He pointed right in his face❌ - Branch pointed at the flag and Mahomes pointed at Branch and said “that’s on you” which it was because of offsides (This isn’t that hard if you aren’t spinning everything) He gestures again✅ - Yes. He wiped his jersey as he does after every rushing touchdown He flexed at him ❌ - He flexed (as he does after every rushing touchdown) while running off the field At this point it’s just crying for the sake of crying

THIS IS NOT A REFEREE TWEET I REPEAT - THIS IS NOT A REFEREE PENALTY OFFICIALS TWEET This is me giving Jaylen Watson a little more grace on the pass to Brian Thomas. Thomas extended his left arm right as Watson is getting ready to jump - AGAIN - This is not about a penalty. This happens a lot in the game including Chiefs receivers doing it. It happens. I wouldn’t want the flag thrown if the roles were reversed and it was a Chiefs receiver. I’m tweeting this because I was pretty frustrated with Watson yesterday during the show with him not coming up with the PBU on this. Outside of closing the gap more on the sideline he was in phase and looks like he timed his jump pretty perfectly. Bad timing that the arm hits him when he’s between steps. Easier to lose balance with neither foot touching the ground AGAIN I DON’T CARE ABOUT A PENALTY OR NOT. Also, good for Brian Thomas who has had his issues with drops that’s he’s able to secure it after the slight bobble before Conner makes the hit. (Please don’t make this about the refs)

This is inexcusable. The fact that Reggie Bush used a “fake step” out of bounds, a “rope a dope” “having it both ways” with the sideline is egregious. Football is soft now I remember when he would’ve been flattened. Not now with the new rules. Roger Goodell is ruining the sport

Yes he was early. But how do you call it in that situation and bail out Burrow? Chiefs ball at the 32, up 10 and the ball to start the 3rd. Bengals got a FG here to end the half. NFL needed this game to stay close I hope I’m doing it right (h/t LaviaSwivel for the reminder)

Dan Campbell yesterday on the delay of game after the penalty (adding to the ref show complaints and tinfoil hats) “Just a communication piece trying to get it in. The clock didn’t get pumped on that. I don’t know….nothing has been said on any of that. We were pressed on time and communication wasn’t clear.” The play clock was absolutely pumped by the official and reset back to :25.

One more point on the illegal motion. One of the complaints is that it took 1:20 to call the penalty. Yes after discussion. But :30 after the touchdown is when Collinsworth says they’re meeting to talk about it. That’s the first time they mention it. Meaning they were already coming together to discuss this before the booth told us this. Now if the alert came from NY is a different question. But that would have to be an immediate notification from NY to the crew considering they started meeting after the play concluded
