A $3,000 pack opened in demo mode. We hit a Gold Star Celebi valued at $3,800 when we filmed. At Tilt Rips HQ, Nimil, one of the developers, walked us through a live demo showing the real cards you can pull on the platform. His enthusiasm for how it feels to open a pack really stood out. It’s the same attention to the experience that came through in our interview with Sam, president of Tilt Rips. But there’s another part you might overlook: who chooses the cards. They’re hand-picked by experts who’d want them in their own collections. You get the benefit of that knowledge without needing to understand every set, rarity and nuance of Pokémon before you start. buying japanese trading cards locally in japan has to be cheaper, right? that’s what i thought until we checked the prices at a local card shop in tokyo. we pulled up recent ebay sales through card ladder. the cards we were looking at were priced at 3x those sales. not quite the bargain i was expecting 😂 this is why you check before you buy. being in japan doesn’t automatically mean you’re getting a deal.
