We released Gemini CLI v0.15.1 (patch) yesterday to address a couple issues introduced in v0.15.0. Made it more clear that Ctrl+S enables copy/paste mode. Now when you click and drag your mouse it will hint at copy/paste mode. This is a temporary workaround as we enable native copy/paste with our new UI rendering. Fixed /clear clearing the whole screen. We are also aware users are having some issues with pasting multi-line prompts, should have another patch out today to address this. 👍

Streamlining the UX in Gemini CLI ✨ We got a lot of feedback on how our UI was way too cluttered with noise and text... so we made changes! 🛠️ Compact tool calls: Tool calls for reading files, folders, searching text, etc are now a single line (no more tool boxes around everything!) 💭 Topics: The agent outputs a one line overview of the rationale and direction it is going. A topic can span several tool calls and makes it easy to see what the agent is working on at a glance and why.

Big fan of the /dir add command in Gemini CLI 🗃️ When starting new projects I give Gemini CLI access to templates or past projects to reference. It was driving me nuts that the command didn't suggest folders as I typed... so I added them. Will be in a future release 🚀

UX Improvement to Gemini CLI interactive shells 🧑‍💻 As of v0.18.0+ it is now much easier to tell when an interactive shell is awaiting user input by a set loading phrase letting you know so 🔃 You can press Ctrl+f in Gemini CLI to focus/interact with shell commands that require user input (git commit, nvim, npm create etc.). Previously the loading phrases would continue spinning making it seem that Gemini CLI was thinking when in reality it was awaiting input. This was the case in one of Theo - t3.gg recent videos where it seemed like Gemini CLI was working away for 55+ mins when really it wanted his input 😵‍💫 I've added the custom loading phrase, hopefully this helps!

Quality of life improvement in Gemini CLI ✨ You can now have model changes using /model persist to all future sessions. Hitting tab let's you toggle between only changing model for given session or all future sessions. This one was highly requested (should have had it a while ago in all honesty) UX still needs a bit of polish around it but it is functional and in latest stable release 👍
