A shitload of fighter jets on one very big ship. The USS Abraham Lincoln is a 1,092-foot, roughly 95,000-ton nuclear-powered Nimitz-class carrier with two reactors, a 4.5-acre flight deck and more than 70 aircraft aboard. You can pick out F-35C Lightning IIs, F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, EA-18G Growlers, an E-2D Hawkeye and MH-60S Sea Hawks on deck. And if you zoom in on the hull, what looks pretty rough from a distance appears to be mostly surface rust streaking, worn paint and the general punishment of spending a very long time at sea. Hope the crew is enjoying some much deserved R&R.

BBC notes the USS Abraham Lincoln arrived after a record 250 days at sea without a break. Sailors can visit Pattaya - but three streets packed with go-go bars are off-limits, as are the city’s cannabis shops. After eight months at sea, even shore leave comes with restrictions.

American Wanted on Seven Alabama Warrants Found at Phuket Hotel Thai police say an American accused of sexually abusing children under 14 and recording the abuse on video has been found at a hotel in Phuket. Lance Beck, 48, is wanted on seven Alabama state warrants and one federal warrant, according to police, with allegations including rape, sexual torture, human trafficking, sexual abuse, incest and facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act. The FBI asked Thai authorities to locate Beck on August 27. Investigators traced him through Phuket International Airport and found him two days later at a hotel around Nai Yang in Thalang. Immigration revoked his visa to remain in Thailand and he was transferred to immigration custody for return to the US. I haven’t been able to find the actual warrants, an FBI or DOJ release, or a publicly indexed Alabama court case naming Beck yet. This is all from the Thai police.

You’re not going to keep thousands of sailors and Marines, fresh off more than 200 days at sea, away from everything Pattaya has to offer, including its commercial sex industry. Add a few drinks and a few nights of liberty and some are going to let loose. One very Pattaya-shaped aftershock of Trump’s war with Iran.

A British man who spent a year and a half in a Thai prison learned the hard way that taking a shortcut to save a few baht on his overstay is a risk he probably won’t take again. He went with the cheaper visa agent in Pattaya, 40,000 baht instead of the 50,000 quoted at his gym, and the paperwork came back fake. He then paid someone else to clean up the overstay, which meant exit and entry stamps for flights he never took. An officer at Don Mueang spotted them. He says the officers told him he was “not who I say I am on my passport” and was trying to evade detection. Then there’s his wild account of what life is like inside, starting with immigration detention, where he says around 120 foreigners are sandwiched in one room against each other, the water system had broken the week before he arrived, and the food is inedible. In prison, shackles for anyone caught fighting, “welded onto your legs,” minimum three months. Guards laying prisoners on hot concrete in view of the cells and pouring water over them. “That is inhumane what happens in there.” If his account holds up, he’s highlighting some alarming issues in the Thai prison system. And if you’re in overstay in Thailand, don’t take shortcuts to get it fixed.

Indonesian scam workers have reportedly fled a compound in Thmor Da, Veal Veng district, Pursat province, according to Cambodian media. One Indonesian worker was quoted saying goodbye to Cambodia, noting that routes used for online scam operations were cut off due to the situation with Thailand and multiple Thai strikes on scam compounds in the area. Reports suggest that the disruption has also led to the release or escape of a number of trafficked workers who had been sold into scam operations.

American YouTuber Arab came to Cambodia and went to a firing range up in the mountains that, for whatever reason, he says he can't disclose the location of. He fired automatic weapons, a sniper rifle, an RPG and a .50 cal, and threw a frag grenade, spending around $2,500 in all. Behind him, Cambodian men who look like soldiers threw cash around while holding their handguns. Arab paid to shoot, and they had just been paid. Anything can be bought in Cambodia if you have the money for it. Here’s a short clip.

Bangkok woman outsmarts machete-wielding stalker who followed her home A man high on drugs followed a woman up the stairs to her rented room in Bangkok's Taling Chan district on March 20, shoving through the door the moment she unlocked it. He was carrying a 50cm machete. Once inside he barricaded the door with furniture, kicked her younger brother out, and ordered her to undress. She told him people were waiting downstairs. When he turned to check, she grabbed a blanket and ran. Police arrived to find the suspect out on the second-floor balcony holding the blade to his own chest. After a long standoff he asked for water. Officers moved in during the handoff, but he slipped and fell from the balcony before they could grab him. Hip injury, taken to Siriraj Hospital. He told police he'd been using heavily and was hallucinating.

WATCH: The Nigerian Who Gave Himself the Title "Big Boss" of DODORIMA Rammed a Police Car on Rama III Thai narcotics police arrested a Nigerian man they call the head of DODORIMA on Monday night outside a luxury condo on Rama III in Bangkok. As officers boxed in his car he reversed hard into one of theirs, injuring an officer, and they smashed the window and pulled him out. Police found 18 grams of cocaine in the car, and when they searched his condo they seized a Toyota, Thai and US cash, money in the bank, and a pile of brand-name goods, about 700,000 baht all told. Police say he'd been in Thailand more than seven years, starting out running cocaine to tourists in the nightlife areas before appointing himself boss of DODORIMA, which they describe as the Thai branch of a global West African network called NBM of Africa. They say the network moved 380 million baht in the past year alone, with proceeds allegedly wired home to build a mansion in Nigeria. The charity events and donation drives were cover, police say, a way to launder drug and romance-scam money and to get close to well-connected people he could supply. Investigators say this traces back to Operation Dark Room, the May raid on a Nonthaburi condo where six Nigerians were arrested for running romance scams, and that the money from that operation led to DODORIMA. He's admitted the cocaine and denied the laundering, says his money is from a legitimate fish-export business and that DODORIMA is just friends doing charity. The name, he told police, means "hello."

Kick streamer Blame spent part of his Angkor stream kicking apart small stacks of stones around the temple grounds while insisting he was protecting the site. “Don’t stack rocks,” he tells viewers. “It’s bad for the environment.” He repeatedly calls the practice “gay,” says the people doing it should “grow up,” complains that “travelers ruin everything,” and claims tourists are bringing outside rocks into an ancient site and stacking them there. The problem is that he doesn’t appear to know why the stones were stacked in the first place. Several people responding to the clip say similar stone stacks can have religious or spiritual meaning in Southeast Asia. So you’ve got a foreign streamer at one of Cambodia’s most sacred ancient sites, knocking over things other people deliberately placed there while lecturing viewers about protecting the place.

Chinese Party Villas Overran a Pattaya Estate and the Neighbors Are Filming Residents of a Pattaya housing estate shared CCTV of a man standing in front of a villa, inhaling nitrous oxide straight into the camera without any attempt to hide it. They say a group of Chinese nationals bought up homes in the development, converted them into unlicensed pool villas, and now throw near-nightly parties with heavy bass that don't wind down until three or four in the morning. Neighbors say they haven't been able to sleep in weeks. The villas cater to visitors coming through zero-fee tour packages, the kind of trip that's cheap up front and makes its money once the tourists are on the ground. Residents are asking police to seal both estate entrances, search the villas, and deport whoever's running them. No word yet on whether anyone has been out to the estate.

A troubling scene from the Thai Cambodian border today. As tension flared and artillery activity sounded across the line, a primary school in Oddar Meanchey told its students to leave immediately. Children hurried out of the building after hearing the noise from the front, moving quickly to get to safety.
