Unbelievable! Trudeau Liberals sent an RCN patrol vessel to celebrate the communist regime in Cuba, all while Cuba is hosting Russian Navy warships. Now the Liberals are claiming they didn't know. This can only mean they are either ignorant, incompetent, or both!

Today Mark Carney announced he would start talking to SAAB about AEW&C planes. Nothing more. No contract. No costing. No delivery date. Worse, it is neither a sole source or a competition. We don’t get the speed of a sole source, but we get the headaches and litigation. This is much ado about nothing!

I was very disappointed to hear Mark Carney’s shrugging of responsibility for keeping Canadians informed about the health of Canadian Armed Forces personnel in the Middle East. To say ‘I'm not the only spokesperson for the government’ is an admission of his failure, which includes failing to keep Parliament and Canadians informed. The previous Conservative government provided regular technical briefings to Parliamentarians and media with respect to OPERATION IMPACT in 2014 and 2015.

Due to Mark Carney’s flip-flops on Iran, the Liberal caucus is meeting today to try figure out what Mark Carney’s position actually is on the war. If his own MPs can’t decipher what he stands for, how do they think Canadians can. If Carney is serious about sending our military to the region, then the only right thing to do is allow Parliament to debate it before deploying our armed forces.

The Liberals have just voted to shut down debate on Bill C-11 on Military Sexual Misconduct. Instead of listening to the courageous veterans and survivors who came forward, along with legal experts and military members, the Liberals are ramming the bill through the House with their new majority, cobbled together through backroom deals. The brave women and men in our Armed Forces deserve better. Canadians deserve better.

This week, my bill C-219, the Sergei Magnitsky International Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Act, passed second reading and is now being referred to the Foreign Affairs Committee for consideration and amendments. We are one step closer to strengthening and aligning Canada's sanction regime with our allies, on holding despots, tyrants, dictators and their proxies to account.

The whole point of the NATO 2% target is to strengthen our collective defence, not to do creative accounting by moving non-military bureaucracies into defence departments. When will the Liberals commit to getting our troops the equipment they need to defend Canada?

The Federal Court of Appeal’s decision last week to uphold the lower court’s ruling that the use of the Emergencies Act was illegal. It confirms what I said during the debate back in 2022. The Liberals’ invocation of the Emergencies Act was nothing more than a power grab by Trudeau and his Liberals. When this Liberal government divides people and violates their freedoms of thought, belief, opinion and expression, it loses. A Conservative Government will ensure the Emergencies Act can never be used again to silence political opposition.

Proud to stand with Pierre Poilievre to take questions on the defence spending announcement. It is important to understand the Liberal history of creative accounting to make our expenditures look higher. Canadians and our forces deserve to see a budget with a real plan on where this money is coming from and how it’s going to be spent.
