According to this Labour Government 16 and 17 year olds are mature enough to vote, but not to serve on a jury. That is an "adult duty" apparently. They are old enough to vote, but are now subject to a government-mandated social media curfew at 8.30pm. The only consistent thing about Labour's votes at 16 policy is the blatant party political self interest.

The construction sector is collapsing. Labour committed to 1.5 million homes. 300,000 a year. London alone needs 88,000. Last figures showed London started just 4,500. Labour's jobs tax, red tape and regulation have caused this. Young people cannot get on the housing ladder. Working people are priced out of the communities they grew up in. The Conservatives will cut red tape, reduce employment taxes and scrap stamp duty. We will get Britain building again.

An unauthorised traveller site was built at Willows Green, in my constituency, over a bank holiday weekend. By the Tuesday morning when the council reopened the damage had been done. This is happening all across the country. I wrote to the Housing Secretary to demand he takes action. His reply was word salad, a vague promise to “analyse consultation responses” and no meaningful response. Labour are not serious about ending the abuse of retrospective planning. They had the chance to adopt our proposals to end the build first, apply later culture. They failed to do so.
