CTV is starting to get it. Even with knowing they’d run the risk of being sued, being loathed, and hurting the livelihoods of Canadian workers and relationships… Stellantis and others STILL chose to move out of Canada, cut jobs, and run south where it’s safer… why would they do that? Safer means: - predictable policy - stability - tax incentives - competitive environment - right to work (reduced union pressure in some states) - lower costs - less red tape Here’s the uncomfortable truth: The Carney government (and before that, Trudeau’s) has made ideological purity, net zero, DEI, and social scoring more important than competitiveness. They’ve created an environment where being profitable, using natural resources, or questioning the “green” narrative makes you a villain. So companies like Stellantis see the writing on the wall: “Why fight for years against a government that clearly doesn’t want industry to succeed?” It’s not just bad policy—it’s hostility toward the private sector itself.

Canada’s finance minister responds to Howard Lutnick’s description of what America First really means… and says multiple times that he understands it, agrees with it, and Canada should embark on a similar path to better cooperate with our allies… If that’s the case, why all the elbows up stuff? This is actually so dumbfounding… in the same breath, CBC Host Rosemary, cites Michael Ma and Chris Dentremont’s statements about “Pierre Poilievre’s leadership” (a liberal talking point)… THEN when he explains the situation, she jumps in with “well they may have not written that… we know your party gives people talking points”. With all due respect… look inside yourself
