Here’s another clip in which Ryan T. Anderson and Fr. Thomas Ferguson rebut Prejean-Boller. She claimed that Jews bear responsibility for killing Jesus. They clarify that according to Catholic theology, Jesus died freely and no person or group bears guilt for his death. They also clarify that Catholicism rejects the supercessionist belief that God’s promises to the Jews are defunct or that Christians have replaced Jews vis-a-vis those promises.

In this clip, Ryan T. Anderson makes clear that there’s a difference between Christian Zionism (which sees the modern state of Israel as a fulfillment of biblical prophesy) and Zionism (which is the idea that Jews have a right to sovereignty in the ancient Jewish homeland). Rejecting the latter is antisemitic. Rejecting the former is not.

Elliot Kaufman Exactly. And he didn’t say anything even close to anti-Islamic. He merely noted that if someone believes there should be Muslim and Christian states but not a Jewish state, that’s antisemitic. The most charitable interpretation is that she didn’t understand what he said.
