With the new Assisted Living Framework, Alberta’s government is relieving pressure on hospitals and ensuring Albertans get the care they need, when and where they need it. The Framework drives immediate results and ensures lasting improvements to strengthen Alberta's assisted living sector through four pillars: ✅Support aging in place: Expands home care and non-medical supports to help Albertans age well in their homes and communities. ✅Connect patients to the right care: Strengthens pathways out of hospital and into the community for non-acute patients through improved diversion and discharge planning. ✅Modernize funding and foster innovation: Aligns funding to prioritize patient outcomes and ensures dollars follow patients, not beds. ✅Build for the future: Drives the largest continuing care expansion in the province’s history, building capacity to meet the needs of Alberta today and into the future.

It’s an honour to receive my new mandate letter from Premier Danielle Smith. Albertans elected us to deliver results, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. Earlier this year I sat down with Dr Jordan B Peterson to talk about Alberta’s compassionate approach to taking down encampments. Alberta’s government won’t allow vulnerable people to be injured and abused in dangerous encampments. Here in Alberta, we believe in recovery and will continue providing individuals leaving encampments with the critical supports and services they need.

Our government is committed to finding long term solutions to help vulnerable Albertans, that’s why we have made record investments into affordable housing. When they were in government the NDP saw waitlists for affordable housing increase by 76%. Our government is taking a different approach and will continue to work hard to ensure Albertans in need have a safe place to call home.
