The Spurs were the better team in the Finals and nobody wants to admit it. Held double-digit leads in all four losses and led for almost 70% of the entire series. Talent wasn’t the problem, pure late-game inexperience gave New York that ring.

Having AJ Dybantsa as your favorite to win ROTY makes sense on paper until you actually look at how loaded that roster is. Washington isn't running a tank offense where a rookie gets handed 20 shots a night. You have Trae Young commanding the ball, three former #1 overall picks in the rotation, and guys like Sarr and Johnson who are also nice. Rookie of the Year is almost always won on raw usage and sheer volume on bad teams. AJ might be the best rookie in the class, but when you're playing fourth option on a team trying to win games, the numbers just aren't going to be there.

Brandon Ingram is the king of meaningless basketball. Takes 18 contested mid-range pull-ups a game, stops ball movement the second he touches it, and impacts winning zero percent.

Put Jalen Williams on any team as the clear number-one option and he averages an effortless 27 a night.

I think OG Anunoby is the perfect archetype for a 3&D wing. You literally can’t get any better than that.
