I'm really liking watching the ABS challenge system. This was an egregiously bad call, but it was easily corrected within seconds.

Logan O'Hoppe left the game after this play.

I know they never actually rule that a hitter didn't try to get out of the way, but c'mon.

Outfield coach Bo Porter had an animated conversation with Taylor Ward before he even got back into the dugout after this. Certainly looked like he could have charged it a little more aggressively and held the runner at 3B or had a chance to throw him out.

I'm not going to show you Nolan Schanuel's game-tying single. Here's this instead. It's 3-3 in the 7th.

The Cubs scored the first run of the game on this play, which seemed to be a bad call. The Angels tried to challenge, but for some reason the umpires didn't allow it. Maybe they took too long? It's 2-0 now in the 3rd.

Here's a good look at the play from the 1st inning. I'll let you umpires out there decide if the Marlins 3B coach "physically assists (the runner) in returning to or leaving third base or first base." Rule 6.01 (a)(8) Angels now down 3-2 in the 3rd

I am strongly in favor of the intentional dropped pop up. There's almost zero risk and occasionally you'll catch a runner not knowing the rules. (Probably better if you can trick the runner into thinking you did it by accident.) Angels down 1-0.

So, on a suicide squeeze, if the hitter can get the ball on the ground in play, it's basically impossible for the defense to stop the run from scoring. Unless you do this.

Scary scene here in Houston. Hopefully Taylor Ward is OK. (Just last night after the game, he and Jo Adell were talking about how dangerous it can be to hit that that out of town scoreboard wrong.)

Mike Trout was running at essentially his best sprint speed of the season, and was thrown out at the plate. A pretty nice throw.

I don't think Trout needs to hit 5th any more.

This is the 12th error of the season for Zach Neto, which is one more than he had all of last year. The next two batters hit HRs. The Angels' lead went from 6-1 to 6-5 in the 6th

Jo Adell's bat gave its life to get the Angels an insurance run.

This is what scoring from first on a single looks like. Elly De La Cruz was running on the pitch and then Bryce Teodosio double-clutched. Angels down 4-1 in the 5th.

I'm torn between thinking Campero should not have even tried for third here and just thinking it's 2 absolutely perfect throws by the White Sox and d'Arnaud isn't fast enough. In any case, Angels down 4-3, top 8.

You can see here that Bo Porter was holding Yoan Moncada at 3rd all the way. Jorge Soler never slowed down coming around 2nd. Angels got nothing out of this. Still up 2-1, after 3.
