It feels like someone has reopened the 2020 Delhi Riots playbook. Police cars being attacked and vandalised, even police men and women being pelted with stones and almost lynched. Start with a street-corner protest. Add students. Add “democracy is dying.” Add foreign media. Add NGO outrage. Add opposition amplification. Add street confrontation. Then wait for one spark, one viral video, one death, one police action, one headline abroad. That is how a so called 'protest' is converted into a destabilisation project. And this reeks of the deep state playbook. The old establishment understands one thing very clearly: if it cannot defeat Prime Minster Narendra Modi through elections, it must make India appear ungovernable between elections. The moment a protest over exams becomes a march on Parliament, the moment the slogans move from reform to regime-change vocabulary, the moment familiar activists, Left networks, foreign media ecosystems and opposition parties begin speaking from the same script, India has every reason to ask: Who is coordinating this escalation? Why does every protest in Delhi follow the same choreography? Why is the elected government always framed not as accountable, but illegitimate? Why does every local grievance suddenly become an international campaign against Indian democracy? We saw this during the CAA riots. We saw this during the farm agitation. We saw toolkits, foreign amplification, coordinated narratives, selective outrage and attempts to turn India’s capital into a permanent theatre of instability. Now the same template appears to be back. Because Delhi Riots of 2020 was not an accident, the court's recent ruling last week made it clear. And someone clearly wants a sequel.

The Opposition knows it does not have the numbers to stop the government's legislative agenda inside the House. Whether it is the proposed FCRA amendments, delimitation or other politically contentious legislation, the arithmetic in Parliament is against them. So shift the battle outside Parliament. Create chaos. Manufacture international headlines about "democracy under threat." That is the heinous conspiracy I believe these four videos expose. The students are not the masterminds. They are the shields. Behind them stands the familiar ecosystem: radical Left networks, Urban Naxal elements, political operators, activist NGOs, foreign-funded influence networks, professional agitators and the same ecosystem that appears every time India is on the verge of taking difficult political decisions. The policemen bleed. The students are arrested. Public property is destroyed. The organisers disappear. The foot soldiers are visible. The conspiracy is not. The law must identify, investigate and prosecute those who planned, financed, coordinated and incited this organised assault on Parliament and democracy itself.

Perhaps the BBC can commission a documentary: “Soho: The India We Imagined.” The BBC usually needs a visa, a fixer and a 7,000-kilometre flight to discover a dirty lane in India. For this story, it merely needed to take the tube to Soho. But naturally, there will be no breathless documentary on the “decline of Britain.” No western media analysis of the cultural consequences of uncontrolled immigration. No sombre BBC voiceover asking how one of the world’s richest countries allowed its capital to look like this. Apparently, litter in India is civilisation. Litter in London is merely an unfortunate camera angle. For decades, Britain imported people faster than it could integrate them, abandoned assimilation in favour of multicultural appeasement, and treated every demand for controlled immigration as racism. Border conversations became embarrassing. Integration became optional. Enforcing civic norms became “intolerant.” Ordinary Britons were instructed to remain silent and are often arrested if they talk while the character of their neighbourhoods changed around them. Britain once lectured India about poverty, cleanliness, communalism and governance. Its media still rush to remote Indian villages searching for images that confirm their prejudices. Now the decay is visible outside their own studios.

I discovered Hanuman Ansh almost by accident. And what an extraordinary discovery it has been. A small film built around the life and spiritual legacy of Neem Karoli Baba - Maharaj-ji - whose influence eventually travelled from the Himalayas to Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs came to India seeking spiritual direction and spent time at Kainchi Ashram. Decades later, Mark Zuckerberg too visited Kainchi Dham, reportedly after Jobs had spoken to him about it. The list of people across the world touched by Maharaj-ji’s philosophy is extraordinary. Which makes the story of this film itself rather remarkable. It opened almost unnoticed. By conventional box-office logic, it should have vanished in its first week. Instead, people began finding it. Then talking about it. Then recommending it. And by the third week, a film that looked destined to disappear had suddenly gone viral. Having now discovered it myself, I understand why. A story about a saint whose influence quietly travelled across continents is itself being discovered quietly, one person at a time. Call it word of mouth. Call it timing. A small film built around the life and spiritual legacy of Neem Karoli Baba - Maharaj-ji - whose influence eventually travelled from the Himalayas to Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs came to India seeking spiritual direction and spent time at Kainchi Ashram. Decades later, Mark Zuckerberg too visited Kainchi Dham, reportedly after Jobs had spoken to him about it. The list of people across the world touched by Maharaj-ji’s philosophy is extraordinary. Which makes the story of this film itself rather remarkable. It opened almost unnoticed. Seven judicial officers were gheraoed for hours in Malda during voter-roll revision work; the officers’ vehicles were attacked with stone-pelting and sticks. The Supreme Court has now called it what it is: a “brazen attempt” to browbeat judges, a “calculated” and “well-planned” move to demoralise them, and proof of the “complete failure” of Bengal’s civil and police administration. CJI Surya Kant’s remark cut to the bone: “In your state, each one of you speaks political language… We have never seen such a polarised state.” That is not just a judicial rebuke. It is an X-ray of Mamata Banerjee’s Bengal, where everything is politicised, institutions are pressured, and even judges cannot do election-related duty without the street being weaponised against them. It has ordered central-force protection for judicial officers, directed the Election Commission to get the incident probed by an independent agency such as the CBI or NIA with a preliminary report directly to the Court, sought explanations from top state officials, and tightened access at hearing sites so mobs cannot overwhelm the process again. Another shows RAF personnel being attacked. Another captures police officers describing how they were assaulted while protecting Parliament. The result: 118 police personnel injured, scores of protesters injured, public property vandalised, government vehicles attacked and multiple FIRs registered. So here's the question. Why did all of this explode only after Parliament convened? For nearly three weeks, the agitation never reached this stage. Then Parliament opened. Political crowds appeared. The violence escalated. Coincidence? Or is there a far bigger objective? My reading is that this is not about examinations anymore. It is about disrupting Parliament itself. The Opposition knows it does not have the numbers to stop the government's legislative agenda inside the House. Whether it is the proposed FCRA amendments, delimitation or other politically contentious legislation, the arithmetic in Parliament is against them. So shift the battle outside Parliament. Create chaos. Manufacture international headlines about "democracy under threat." That is the heinous conspiracy I believe these four videos expose. The students are not the masterminds. They are the shields. Behind them stands the familiar ecosystem: radical Left networks, Urban Naxal elements, political operators, activist NGOs, foreign-funded influence networks, professional agitators and the same ecosystem that appears every time India is on the verge of taking difficult political decisions. The policemen bleed. The students are arrested. Public property is destroyed. The organisers disappear. The foot soldiers are visible. The conspiracy is not. Rattled and envious by the goodwill generated in favour of the PM by Chandrayaan 3’s spectacular success in its lunar mission, he has pettily retweeted an ancient clip of a speech by Nehru (couldn’t find evidence of any contribution by any other member of the dynasty and had to delve deep into history; other Congress PMs do not count) at the inauguration of TIFR.
