I like the idea of him just disappearing, but the issue is in the execution. the droning background sound keeps going after he disappears. it makes it feel like a cartoony poof away rather than scary imo i think it's more impactful to cut out all sound except the knife & jotaro

The weird thing about this is that One Piece CAN sound great with the sound effects it uses...but the editing is the problem It's a shame because Hidenori Arai's work on Dragon Ball is some of the best out there too. I wonder if it's burnout from working on 1000+ episodes lol
