How do you respond to that? Støre: To be completely honest, I don’t think it goes any deeper than the fact that Trump is holding on to the story about Norway awarding the Peace Prize. I think, honestly, that he knows exactly how the Peace Prize is awarded. I know he has people close to him who explain it to him. But Trump—he says a lot of what he thinks and tweets a lot of what he’s thinking. And I can only repeat, we have this Peace Prize, and we’ve been awarding it since around nineteen hundred; it’s decided by a committee appointed by the Storting (the Norwegian Parliament). I know as little about it as everyone else until eleven o’clock on the day it’s announced. And I think, really, it is a pity for Trump that he continues to repeat this message, because we see from American politicians—his own included—that this is a path that leads nowhere. And, in a way, I think that’s sad. But that’s how it is, and ultimately, he has to take responsibility for it himself.
