Let’s decide once and for all if the Great Highway will be a park or not. I’m putting this question on the ballot. Should the Great Highway remain what it was the past century? Or become an iconic oceanside park that defines San Francisco for the next 100 years? Details here: I believe that an oceanside park is good for our city. I’m also working hard to tackle traffic concerns. And I’m purposefully putting this on the ballot so voters have the final say. We’ve made the most of a part-time park on the weekends — from senior yoga to dragon dances, jazz performances to Halloween costumes on parade. Now we can make it full time and official. We can give San Franciscans a real coastal park with playgrounds, seating for ocean and sunset views, plazas for concerts and holiday celebrations, and anything we can imagine. We could call it the Great Sunset Park. This is a once-in-a-century opportunity to create something as essentially San Francisco as the Golden Gate Bridge. A park is not only a good time. It’s also good for the environment. The Great Highway is already becoming a road to nowhere. The Southern section is closing due to coastal erosion. Drivers will be forced to turn inland to make their way out of the city. So, what’s the solution? Work is underway to smooth the path for drivers down Lincoln and Sunset. By simply turning left on Lincoln instead of taking the next left at Sloat, we can create an amazing coastal park. The Embarcadero used to be a double decker freeway. Crissy Field used to be a military dump. That is unimaginable today. But the decision to tear down the Embarcadero freeway was controversial 35 years ago, just as the decision about the Great Highway is now. I wonder, will the Great Highway for cars become as forgotten as the old Embarcadero freeway? Will our kids and generations after them be able to imagine San Francisco without an oceanside park? Will we be the lucky ones who get to create this joyful place that will define San Francisco for the next century? We get to decide this November. This is how San Francisco celebrates the Fourth of July. We started a new tradition — an oceanside parade. San Francisco doesn’t have a big, citywide Fourth of July parade. We should. And we will with the success of our first attempt last weekend. Even Nancy Pelosi showed up! Mark your calendar for July 4, 2025 — and every Independence Day after that. When we celebrate the founding of our nation — which was far from a perfect union — we honor all the work and progress to make it more perfect. We acknowledge that democracy and its freedoms are fragile, requiring constant care. And we imagine the promise our nation still holds.

They are attacking our volunteers just for speaking up. • Albert was doorknocking for me 🚪 • @EngardioRecall posted all his personal info online 🔒 • They used slurs + tried to intimidate him 😡 But he won’t be silenced. I’m proud of Albert for speaking up. It takes a lot of courage. 🚗💥 Donut speed bumps just dropped at 42nd & Lawton. 🍩 This was a hotspot for illegal sideshows—in broad daylight, next to homes, a church, and families walking by. 🚫 The City and I have zero tolerance for this. ✅ These speed bumps deter the chaos. More are ready if sideshows pop up elsewhere. We’re shutting it down. We’re keeping the Sunset safe. 🌅 #PublicSafety #SanFrancisco #SunsetSF

I’m taking nothing for granted. This morning, me and our volunteers hit the streets of the Sunset bright and early. We knocked on doors for several hours and met voters directly, to tell them they should vote No on A and reject this wasteful recall. #NoOnA

From offers of water 💧 to a family debate about the Great Highway, the support out here in person feels so different from what you see online ❤️.
