This is Mustafa Mulalira, the OC operations, CPS Mbale city. Our coordinators in Mbale made this poster, and took it to our Mbale city office. Mulalira raided them and tore the poster, and his team fired live bullets at them. Uganda Police, we’ve seen NRM supporters with huge posters of their candidate in different cities and towns, is it a crime if the poster is for the NUP candidate??

Benjamin Katana, our party treasurer, in his usual calm demeanor asked one of the officers why they were attacking and assaulting our supporters after the first rally in Mbarara. The response of this shameless officer was to hit him with his gun in the groin. This week on Thursday, I addressed MPs from the East African Legislative Assembly and other stakeholders who were meeting in Kampala. I pointed out concerns like the deportation of Hon Martha Karua who holds an EAC passport and a certificate to practice law in Uganda currently. I also talked about the challenges of cross border trade which ought to be addressed for integration to be worthwhile. Find my full remarks here

Hassan Hiwumbire, the Wandegeya DPC has got a family, a wife and 3 children. It's sad to see him treat other people's children this way. In this Ramathan season, I imagine Hassan wakes up in the whee hours, and eats Daaku with his family, in preparation for the day's fasting. Then in the morning, he sets out to go and work. This here is part of the "work" that Hassan does. May God help this brute, because one wonders where all this rage comes from.

This morning, I raised concerns in Parliament about the unusually rapid speed at which the Protection of Sovereignty Bill is being processed. Committee meetings to consider views of stakeholders have not commenced, but the bill has already been put on today’s order paper for passing! If the bill is good for the Country like we are told, it is prudent that adequate time is accorded for key stakeholders to share their views on this bill. #KeepingTheGovtInCheck
