Aston Villa are pleased with progress on the North Stand redevelopment, on track for completion before next season. New corner tunnel and home dressing room also being built. Trinity Road capacity has risen by 550, with almost every seat in VP replaced in last three years. #AVFC

It's Aston Villa's moment again, finally. European trophy lifted, hearing that Prince William loves the coverage, then bumping into Ian Taylor(Only one😁) on the walk-and-talk - excuse the emotions getting the better of me. Analysis can wait; my raw feelings on a special night… 🙏 #AVFC

Transfer speculation appears to be impacting Aston Villa on the pitch again, but I find it very difficult to excuse sloppy mistakes and, as Unai Emery put it, "lost emotions." A terrible way to start the season, and very poor from Ollie Watkins not to even show up today. #AVFC

Love George Hemmings' confidence and swagger. He's now taken two fine finishes, too. "Fantastic, George, fantastic," Unai Emery shouted a few times. Brian Madjo's brute force is so hard to contain - two Sociedad players were booked trying. Far East tour will do Villa good. #AVFC

Aston Villa have extracted maximum value from Morgan Rogers, IMO. Deal still to be finalised, but expected from Villa's end. Chelsea have been long-term admirers, yet a move there this summer comes as a shock without European football. Big window, even bigger now. #AVFC

A lot to like about Aston Villa today, and what this team can become. Suzuki looks the real deal, Manzambi a star in the making after scoring on his full debut, and Jackson will get better and better. Emery knows a rebuild takes time, but his team needed a result today. 💪 #AVFC

Aston Villa have been tested before and they'll be tested again. Unai Emery will make sure it all works out. Youri Tielemans is heading off, and likely Lucas Digne too. Johan Manzambi set to join… and more will follow. Summer window has kicked into life. 😳 #AVFC

Aston Villa are set to land their prime target to replace Ollie Watkins, and I think Nicolas Jackson will prove a top signing. Plus, Emi Martinez, Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Joel Ordonez, Rafa Leao and more as Villa enter the final six days of the summer window. #AVFC

A small step in the right direction, but Aston Villa leave Hull disappointed it wasn't more. Big chances created - including one started by Suzuki - yet wasted. Several new players still to come in and adapt. The hope is that it'll all click sooner rather than later… #AVFC

"John, Pacho is never dominated like this!" That's what one PSG reporter told me after Brian Madjo's Villa debut - what a talent he is. He never gave up on that goal. George Hemmings was also excellent against the European champions. Villa leave Salzburg full of pride. 🇦🇹 #AVFC

Emi Martínez's move to Juventus is back on, while Aston Villa have moved for Zion Suzuki in preparation for another possible big-name departure. Villa completed their pre-season preparations this afternoon, but there's still plenty to sort in the transfer market… #AVFC

Lots of love for John McGinn from the travelling Aston Villa fans in Lille as he went through his warm-down. He fell over at the end of one of his runs - joke or not, it must have scared a few! Villa secured another big European win on his return to the squad. #AVFC

Greetings from Istanbul, where I've just polished off some koftas and tomorrow Unai Emery becomes the first manager to take charge of 100 UEL matches. His Villa side can expect a cauldron of noise, with the Fenerbahce boss urging his team to play "with emotion." 🇹🇷 #AVFC

After last week's false start, Villa were much-improved tonight, even without several new signings. Suzuki impressed, especially with his feet, while Jackson fitted in well despite limited training. Much, much more to come from this team. Five games await in 14 days. #AVFC

Aston Villa are the first non-'big commercial six' club to qualify for UEFA competition via their league finish in three straight seasons for the first time since they did so in 07/08-09/10. That's Unai Emery's main target ticked off … now it's time to return to the UCL. #AVFC

Aston Villa hope to wrap up the signing of Joao Gomes in the coming days as they look to add more bite to their midfield. No Premier League player has won more tackles than the 25yo over the last two seasons. Medicals are due for Gomes and Johan Manzambi. 🇧🇷 🇨🇭 #AVFC

Some Aston Villa season ticket holders won't be at Villa Park on Saturday because they don't own a compatible device to access their ticket. A broader exemption criteria to the PL's digital ticketing must be established so loyal fans aren't excluded by tech barriers. #AVFC

Not good enough from Villa today, but they'll improve as the new signings adapt. You'd like to think this is as vulnerable as they'll be this season, much like at the start of last term. How long it takes to click is another question given the amount of change. Long game. #AVFC
