Today we remembered the 18 soldiers murdered at Narrow Water 47 years ago. Their service & sacrifice must not be forgotten. We stand with all victims of terrorism. As we build a brighter future, we must never allow history to be rewritten or terrorism to be excused or glorified.

Great news: the flags stolen from the Somme memorial in Ballymena last month have been recovered from Londonderry & returned to the 12th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles Memorial Association. Cllr Rodney Quigley & I did an appeal & vital cross community work delivered a result.

It was clear yesterday during the debate on the minimum age of criminal responsibility that the Alliance, Sinn Fein & SDLP parties did not understand the law change they were proposing. I revealed the PSNI would not even be able to take forensics from suspects of serious crimes.

Once again yesterday, Sinn Féin ran Northern Ireland down. Theyy’ve called our home a “basket case” & worse. The reality is very different: a highly skilled workforce, world-class agri-food, superb tourism & success far beyond our size - from sport to film production. Proud of home.

Yesterday, I was pleased to support a bill that permits girls to wear trousers in schools if they wish. This is basic common sense. I don’t believe a man should force a girl to wear a skirt against her & her parents wishes. The DUP should have supported this & it could have be been addressed through the new school uniform guidelines, but wasn’t.
