This means something to me. Watching the Mayor of New York City go into the shoddy housing owned by slumlords and actually care. That's something I wish could've happened to 19 year old me trying to navigate the bureaucracy of NYC just to get some help when my apartment flooded.

The courageous Max Blumenthal had a conversation with Dave Smith about why, and how, everyone should visit Israel, to determine for themselves what is going on there. Max’s autobiographical account tells about his first trip there. He also reveals something not only about corruption of youth under the guise of “supporting Zionism and Israel,” but also about how people can reject it. This is important. A friend of mine often says that “it’s not Big Brother you have to worry about. It’s Little Brother which is the way a country loses its soul.” Max Blumenthal refused to lose his soul, as have hundreds of thousands of other New Yorkers, Jewish or not, that call genocide in Gaza by its rightful name. Some pundits are describing the several-million-document “Epstein Drop” as “the final nail in the coffin of the post-1945 neoliberal order.” That is an overstatement, and in another sense, a distraction. Don’t fixate on President Trump—look beyond, to see ALL the players involved, including ALL the Presidents of the last 40 years, starting with Bush #41. At the center of the New York City branch of the system sat the very soul of crime, whose name was Roy Marcus Cohn (1927-1986). When Donald Trump asks the question, “Where’s my Roy Cohn?” Think Faust conjuring up Mephistopheles, and then consider Faust’s damnation. What the documents do show is the price paid by the American people at the hands of a culture of depopulation, deindustrialization and despair that is the true face, rather than the public portrait, of the “Dorian Greys” of the elite, and their “moral crusade for democracy” that has placed the world at the brink of thermonuclear war. Democrat, Republican, “right-wing” or “left-wing,” in the dark, these differences don’t exist. In this 250th year of the Declaration of Independence, reading that document, and doing what it suggests, will be the fastest way for ourselves and our posterity to escape the condition into which the nation has fallen. That’s why I’m running for Congress, and that’s why you should declare your independence from the cesspool of decadence called the War Party.

I came to Delaney Hall, the same detention center the Mayor of Newark was arrested at, to visit my stepdad. Absolutely insane how the information you’re given is not clear, the security treat you like animals, and the visitation for detainees is only limited to a slim window.

I visited a food pantry in the Bronx, which is facing closure due to the lack of funds. While I was there, I met a woman who lines up at the pantry every week, and depends on it to live. I asked her if she knew what was happening in Gaza, and she said the attacks on the children and elderly brought tears to her eyes. Watch my interaction with her:
