Ok. So, it is very early and I'm only catching up now. If I got this right: 0. The organizers of the event took government money to facilitate the event, fully knowing that Messi playing was key to the money being awarded as a grant. 1. Messi and Suarez were injured, but Martino never mentioned to the organizers that they wouldn't play. The game was held without warning fans that the main reason they were there was not going to feature. 2. David Beckham was booed during the award ceremony for this friendly. 3. Martino acknowledges the failure in letting folks know Messi was not going to play. 4. They play Japan's Vissel Kobe on Wednesday after embarrassing losses and a win in Hong Kong. Bradley Carnell comments on Cavan Sullivan’s clip of him being substituted over the weekend: “No, I have no problem with a guy who, you know, is frustrated to come off or not. No problem. I have no problem with any expectations that anyone has. But, you know, I’m not in an individual sport, I’m in a team sport. And I think anyone who knows the intensity we play at, we’ve done this for many, many months now. And, you know, I would think we shouldn’t make a mountain out of a molehill. This is something that is over and, in the heat of the moment, it didn’t affect anyone but Cavan. So this is something that he’s still learning as a young pro. Chris Armas’ behavior toward Matt Pollard (Matt Pollard) during the post-match press conference was genuinely bizarre and certainly not reflective of how a professional manager should conduct himself. Unbelievably unprofessional -- and, frankly, fitting for a coach whose overall record stands at 68-27-73 despite managing clubs that tend to spend heavily on players. I understand emotions were running high after the type of match they just played, but that’s no excuse. Yesterday, the U-20 U.S. squad beat Argentina’s U-20s by a score of 3–0, with a slew of Union involvement throughout the match. - Sal Olivas scored the opener, assisted by Philadelphia Union Homegrown and current San Diego FC midfielder David Vazquez. - For the second, YSC graduate Devon DeCorte, now with Belgian club Anderlecht, made the key pass that led to the goal. - On the third, former Union II player Bajung Darboe broke through and put the game to rest. Best part of it all? They did it in front of Lionel Messi and Argentina FA president Claudio Fabián “Chiqui” Tapia at, get this, Argentina’s headquarters, which are named after Messi. First interview with Wagner at Birmingham City. A few things of note: 1. Transfer conversations began in December (which we already knew). The project gave him “goosebumps.” 2. He is expected to contribute immediately. No surprise, as he is still in shape given how recently the MLS season ended for Philadelphia. 3. Tom Brady played a significant role in making this happen.
