Today I asked the Government two very simple and direct questions. Do they agree with me that men coming here illegally pose a direct threat to the safety of British women and girls? Do they agree with me that men who came here illegally and need a LEAFLET to ask them not to rape women and girls should instead be immediately deported? Watch for yourself - Labour couldn’t answer. British women and girls deserve better.

Puberty isn’t a disease. It’s a normal part of human development. Suppressing it is a major medical intervention - yet the puberty blockers trial is putting children as young as 11 at risk. Can an 11-year-old truly understand the risks and lifelong implications of a decision like this? The Government must stop this dangerous trial and put children’s safety first.

The women of Piddington are rightly worried and scared. I was pleased to meet with them earlier this week to hear their concerns about proposals to house nearly 2,000 migrants in their village. Women and girls deserve to feel safe in their own community. These proposals must be stopped.

This week the Lib Dem’s made clear. If you believe that a woman is an adult human female - Ed Davey and the Lib Dem’s aren’t for you. If you believe in safe, single sex spaces for women and girls - Ed Davey and the Lib Dem’s aren’t for you. They are not a serious party. They are definitely not a party for the rights of women and girls.

The government needs to start listening to the women of Piddington - and women across Britain. They are telling them loud and clear: they are worried about illegal immigration and want to feel safe in their own towns, villages and communities. When babies and children - or even the suggestion of them - are used to promote adult sexualised content or pornography - a serious and grotesque line has been crossed. We cannot - and we must not - turn a blind eye when a child’s safety and wellbeing could be at risk. We have seen too many cases where adults have failed to speak up or act to protect children. Tonight, Conservatives will vote to protect children from dangerous puberty blocker clinical trials. Labour and Lib Dem MPs now have a choice: stand with us and put children’s safety first - or vote the other way. This should not be a party-political issue. Protecting children should come first.
