This cow threw me over a gate the day after she calved! I can cuddle the rest of my cows. It’s a real shame because she looks fantastic and her calf is brilliant, but you can’t let one bad cow ruin the herd. A lesson for life and politics there.

Our farm house is home to 15 swallow families at the moment. They wake me up at dawn with their chattering and spend their day skimming over our cows eating the flies, returning to their nests to feed their chicks. An incredible sight 🌾

Labour MP blames Brexit for food price increases. The reality? It’s his own government increasing energy costs, hiking wage bills, new regulations hurting confidence and now adding packaging and fertiliser taxes. Either he’s lying, or he isn’t fit to be an MP.

Labour’s new fertiliser tax won’t just hit farmers, it’ll hit you too. From 2027 the fertiliser we use to grow wheat for bread, or barley for beer is going to be taxed. That means food gets more expensive. And while British farms get taxed, imported food won’t. Is that fair?

Nerve-wracking week with our annual TB test. Cattle tested on Monday, then a 4-day wait for results. They’ve gone clear, continuing 23 years without a breakdown. We’ll carry on turning grass to beef, like farms across the country feeding the nation one day at a time! 🚜🥩

Labour picked a fight with the countryside they didn’t need to. Raising the threshold is a partial victory, won by farmers, families, rural businesses and Conservatives who stood up in Westminster and across the country. We’ll keep pushing until they are fully protected. 🇬🇧

From today Family Farms and Businesses are subject to inheritance tax You can’t farm without land, and you can’t run a business without assets. Forcing families to sell off pieces of their livelihood just to pay a tax bill will lead to national decline.

Last week, Labour and Lib Dem MPs voted to tax gas boilers – more clueless policies that threaten rural Britain. Villages like Clovelly can’t meet rigid energy efficiency targets without losing their identity. Something your average MP or civil servant just doesn’t get.
