Today I handed in a letter to No10 signed by over 100 MPs, industry bodies and farming experts opposing Labour’s Family Farm Tax. The NFU estimates up to half of all working farms, possibly more, could be impacted by Labour’s decision to put generations of farming at risk and threaten our food security. I hope this letter will encourage the Government to think again.

We have more than 1,000 farmers who used to farm only when it rains, one or two seasons a year. From now on, they will be able to farm throughout the year without stopping because we have invested in irrigation and water from Mirangine dam will support the production of more food. We will have Farmers' Day in Ol Kalou, and we want our fishermen and farmers to be part of it because they will benefit. I am also proud to tell you that next week we will open our Ol Kalou cold storage facility and fishermen from this area will be able to store their fish there before selling them. And to the fishermen, do not worry about the market. Even if you harvest a lot of fish, there will be a market. People in Narok, Nakuru, Nairobi and other places will buy it. As production increases, we can even export to other markets. Canada just made a huge decision that will impact the food you eat. Many new #geneedited foods will no longer be regulated by Health Canada and PHAC or Canadian Food Inspection Agency & biotech corporations will not have to alert the gov, #farmers, or consumers what they are releasing into the market. Safety will be left up to the corporations making the product. The threat to #organic farming, certification, and consumer transparency continues to be a growing concern.

Trump: I will not be abandoning the farmers. We are strong on the borders and for the farmers and others in the hotel industry. We have similar situations and Kristi and I will be working with the states and we will work something where the farmers and be responsible. They have had people around for 10 or 15 years and they know them well, we will put them responsible, and issue a form of card or documents and the farmer will be responsible for these people. They will not have citizenship but they will be working and paying taxes. We need to get our farmers the people they need or else the farmers will not be able to do their land. It was tried when there was a very strong guy, and he got everybody out, and every farm almost in the country but every farm in California or Iowa went bankrupt and they had nobody to work and we do not want that situation. We will put our farmers and others in charge of the people that they have under them. They know the people and it will work out well. We will take care of our farmer but to get the criminals out. Go ahead.

Both main political parties have programs and policies in place which will guarantee gradual but certain extinction of British Farmers. Both are completely out of touch with the countryside. We need to understand what is really going on with British farmers and how they are being methodically destroyed by the system as well as our public being forced to consume inferior imported produce. Last Tuesday, British farmers took to Parliament Square to stand against the Labour government’s family farm tax, which would devastate family farms and put generations of hard-working farmers at risk. As always, I continue to support British farmers, and this Christmas my plate will be filled with British turkey and vegetables, produced by the very family farms worth protecting. 🚜🇬🇧
