As we at UFN reported months ago, it is now common news that foreign veteran fighter pilots including Americans are serving in Ukraine as volunteers to defend the skies. Many in the West once said it would be impossible even for U.S. fighter pilot veterans to assist in this way but yet another barrier has fallen. In fact President Biden once said Ukraine didn't need F-16s. Well, now Ukraine has F-16s and some of America's best young veterans are helping defend the skies over a free land.

JD Vance refused to clap for “nature,” during the King’s speech to Congress. Even Speaker Mike Johnson was puzzled. In fact, he looked a bit afraid as he rose to clap while JD, emissary of the White House and president of the Senate, sat silently. But the Speaker found the courage to clap anyhow. King Charles showed Ciceronian rhetorical skills and within 2 minutes he indeed had Vice President Vance clapping for nature, once the king couched the natural order as also necessary for national security for free peoples. This was simply a nice hot-mic moment between King Charles III and President Zelensky at Windsor Castle. "You don't want to wash your hands, just in case?" the King asked, as they entered into a private audience. That's a polite British euphemism meaning, "Do you need to use the restroom?" — but it shows a high level of courtesy and attention from the King. "No, no, I'm ok," Zelensky said, in a friendly way. Such wholesome meetings, I suspect, are sources of encouragement for Zelensky, quite different from the reality TV lions' den of the White House. [And I'm not judging that difference right now; The White House is indeed a test that has to be passed.] What do you think?

A massive explosion hit KNDS's military plant in Colleferro, outside Rome — a company that supplies Ukraine's defense forces and produces inside Ukraine. Four days earlier, the same kind of blast hit Emilian Gebrev's plant in Bulgaria. Not the first: there were explosions in 2022 and 2023. In 2015, GRU officers poisoned Gebrev with Novichok in his own apartment. And today, Tusk announced Poland foiled a Russian plot to kill a US citizen tied to arms deliveries for Ukraine. Russia isn't just fighting Ukraine's army anymore. It's hunting the factories that arm it — on EU soil.

A man walked up to a pole in Ottawa, popped two balloons in the colors of the Ukrainian flag as if he'd won something, and strolled off certain no one had seen him. Pro-Ukrainian activists had filmed the whole thing and posted it to TikTok. From there it unraveled fast: his face was run through Russian databases and identified as an FSB officer — a former border-service officer now posted, at least officially, to Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as commandant on duty at the embassy. His special mission, apparently: defeating Ukraine one balloon at a time. Whether Canada expels him remains to be seen. What's certain is there will now be more balloons outside the Russian Embassy in Ottawa, not fewer.

Voice's like Meloni's can help snap so many people out of the propaganda coma that prevents them from standing with Ukraine. Maybe Elon, who has castigated Ukraine and who has ignored Ukraine's great successes, will wake up.
