Do we keep catching arrows, or take out the archers? That’s the question on everyone’s mind in Ukraine today, after another wave of Russian missiles struck from bases that the U.S. won’t let Ukraine target. #LetUkraineStrikeRussianAirfields

The Russo-Ukrainian war is a bizarre mix of high tech and primitive means. Russia, for all its alleged might, has taken to sending armed illegal immigrants aka soldiers into Ukraine on donkeys and, on fancy days, on horseback. Here a Ukrainian drone takes out a horsebound soldier.

How J.K. Rowling Kept a Ukrainian Alive Through Years of Russian Captivity Sasha Ivanov, a Ukrainian soldier, spent five years in Russian captivity—starting before Russia’s full-scale war. When men from his cell started returning home, it turned out they had all listened to Harry Potter through Sasha’s retelling—and now they know every book too. From memory, he kept retelling the whole saga—over and over. Meanwhile, Sasha’s friends showed up at every prisoner exchange with wands, toy owls, and other Harry Potter gear, hoping he would be among the released. Time after time, he did not appear. He was still in a Russian prison, reciting Harry Potter. At last, their dream is true: He is back in Ukraine—and free. And JK Rowling’s stories written in an Edinburgh café kept him going in darkest Russian dungeons through the bleakest time. ‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.’ Art by #NEIVANMADE with Cultural Forces International

As we at UFN reported months ago, it is now common news that foreign veteran fighter pilots including Americans are serving in Ukraine as volunteers to defend the skies. Many in the West once said it would be impossible even for U.S. fighter pilot veterans to assist in this way but yet another barrier has fallen. In fact President Biden once said Ukraine didn't need F-16s. Well, now Ukraine has F-16s and some of America's best young veterans are helping defend the skies over a free land.

1/ “Stop PowerPointing. Test your weapons in Ukraine.” A top NATO general says freedom's future is on Ukraine’s front lines—where drone makers surged from 7 in 2022 to 500+ today. Big Defense, cushioned by comfy profits, fears Ukraine’s scrappy “defense tech valley.” 🧵⤵️

I don't see a scenario in which Greenland is not soon in US hands. Europe in Ukraine has shown they are afraid of Russia. Imagine how much more would they be afraid of the USA🧵1/3 ⤵️
