In 2025, due to scheduling quirks, G156 needed to stop for 16 mins at Zaozhuang Station and let three trains serving faster stopping patterns to pass. Meaning if you took G156 you get non-stop Chinese HSR passing action, with 6 trains passing during those 16 mins.

A railfan at around 11:00PM captured a period on the Beijing-Guangzhou HSL where China Railways schedules a pack of 8 high speed sleeper trains heading to various destinations in south China from Beijing. Lead by an inspection train all 9 trains cleared this section in 2 hours.

Los Angeles was built on the backs of the (at the time) world's largest electric rail network. Which was so impressive Meiji-era Japanese came, studied and copied it back home, becoming the Japanese urban railways we know & love today. Oh and then LA demolished their network.

Lanzhou, the birthplace of LaMian or Ramen as known in Japan. A dish invented by Chinese Muslims in Lanzhou using Halal ingredients. The noodles(Mian 面) are handmade on site by pulling (La 拉). The dish was brought over to Japan in the late 19th century and modified into Ramen.

Last week a new pilot high speed freight service with trains operating up to 350kph began between Guangzhou and Wuhan. High speed freight services have been running in a trial basis across China with services between Kunming-Chengdu, Zhengzhou-Chongqing, Nanchang-Shenzhen etc.
