Sen. DURBIN: Two things we can do to stand up to Big Tech. Repeal Section 230. Let every American family access courts to enforce the protection of their children. We will see things happen dramatically if we do those two things.

Sen. DURBIN: We ask all these nominees what happened on January 6th, and they say 'it was sunny and the wind was blowing.' No. There was a mob that attacked the Capitol. If you can’t acknowledge that, then what the hell good are you?

Immigration economics expert: Congress has a choice. Instead of mass deportation, we can instead “crack down on exploitation, strengthen millions of families, and build American prosperity” by providing undocumented immigrants a way to fix their papers.

Sen. WHITEHOUSE on Democrats’ besting Donald Trump’s judicial confirmation total: This is “very good news.” Now, in court after court after court, those seeking justice will get a fair and honest judge to hear their case.

An independent, fair-minded Attorney General doesn’t praise a “lock her up” chant.

DACA recipient and assistant district attorney: “I am a DACA recipient, a prosecutor, a husband, and a dad. And without question, a patriot.”

Sen. DURBIN: I'll never forget Todd Blanche’s hearing yesterday. He was asked if he’d meet with Epstein’s victims. In my office, he said yes. In the hearing, he said no. I met with them. I’ll never forget it. No member of the Senate should vote for him if they met with survivors.

Sen. COONS: How many January 6th rioters were convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers? Blanche: ~120. Coons: 200+. How many had their sentences commuted or were pardoned? Blanche: Every one. Coons: The pardons are a shameful slap in the face to law enforcement.

Sen. SCHIFF: Did you write the Trump immunity provision? Blanche: No. Schiff: But you put your name to it? Blanche: I did. Schiff: Who wrote this? Blanche: DOJ. I don’t know the name. Schiff: Who rejected the 25 defenses the IRS had? Blanche: There was a lot of discussion.

Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

US Citizen detained by ICE: Clearly it didn't matter that I was a citizen, a veteran, or identified who I was. They ignored everything I said. They just broke my window and dragged me out. I let them know I was a veteran, I wasn't doing anything wrong, just trying to get to work.

Sen. DURBIN: Tomorrow we’re considering Todd Blanche’s nomination. He has said the courts are full of ‘rogue activist judges’ and the Trump Admin is ‘at war’ with the federal judiciary. That kind of rhetoric is unacceptable on either side of the table, Democratic or Republican.

Epstein survivor: I found my name in two places in the first Epstein Files release. In the next release, the redactions were far worse. The Files displayed my name, phone number, and more. These documents contain disturbing yet incomplete accounts of my abuse. It was humiliating.

Sen. SCHIFF: Have you tried a case to verdict? Trump nominee: I worked on a bench trial and handled seven as a clerk. Schiff: The judge handles trials. Were you lead counsel? Nom: No. Schiff: Your trial experience is as second or third lawyer on one bench trial? Nom: Yes.

Katie Lane is the first Trump 2.0 judicial nominee to receive a NOT QUALIFIED rating from the American Bar Association. She’s never even tried a case. There are 3,000+ licensed attorneys in Montana. Pick a different one.

Sen. DURBIN: Next time we meet, we’ll consider Todd Blanche to be Attorney General. He’s Trump’s former personal lawyer and still plays that role. He has used DOJ to protect the President. He led the coverup of the Epstein files and established the slush fund for cop beaters.

Sen. DURBIN: What do courtrooms say about unmet security concerns? Justice BARRETT: That’s part of their budget request. They’re in great need. Justice KAGAN: Lower federal courts have some significant concerns. Durbin: Very much so.
