This is a young Garm getting frustrated with me. We were just out fooling around with his toy, not doing anything structured. Im asking for "platz", he obliges, i ask again, he gives me a half hearted platz but then barks at me and just starts throwing out "sit pretty" figuring its a short cut to getting his reward. He was right. It didn't always have to be perfect. He made me laugh, that was often more important. He was so damn smart, working with him was such a treat. For a big boy he was also quite athletic.

Took Geist for his first trip out to town today. First car ride since he arrived on 28 January. He travels perfectly. Its a 20 mile trip to town, winding roads then freeway, he just sleeps. He was great on the flight here also, from what we understand. This is really important as we do travel long distances. We were in the truck today, we usually travel in the camper van so there's plenty of room for everyone. Pops waited outside while i shopped and took this video. Grim is there as well, laying on the right side. Shes also excellent to travel with.

Its the winter Solstice tonight. Its always kinda sad for us because we love the winter, the cold, snow and short days it brings. As the days grow longer from here we are always reminded of the end of winter and the warm days to come. This year is very different. Its hard. He loved the winter so much. So instead of lamenting the beginning of the end of winter, I find myself wishing the snow away because he can't be here to enjoy it. My boy. The moosedog, our winter aficionado.

Still snowed in. Me trying not to fall over as the Grimlin has my leg. She got the inside of my boot last night and spun me around, I took a header in the snow. This is our game since she was just a pup. I initiate it and let her know when we are done. She's a good girl.
