Was watching a Charlie video about a streamer (Morgpie) and noticed she used the Me!Me!Me! Girl as the dono notif animation. Humans are stupid to a fascinating degree. We will warn ourselves of mistakes then not only completely ignore them, but use said warning to promote what the message was AGAINST. "History repeats itself" is always talked about but what's never mentioned is how we predetermine our future too. Look at A.I and the way that's going, how many pieces of Scifi have warned us about corporations running the future or the dangers of it yet here we are with A.I "art" in games and advertisements. We try to prevent ourselves from making future mistakes and what happens? We happily ignore them until it's too late then cry and wonder how we got here.

And what Castlevania is "supposed" to be isn't even something that exists because the franchise has constantly changed what it could be. Igavania was different from OG trilogy, Lord of Shadows was different, Lament of Innocence was different, etc. There is no one way a Castlevania game SHOULD be.

"It isn't a metroidvania" People really need to stop calling everything a Souls-like. No Metroidvania's don't require rpg elements and no learning boss attack patterns isn't exclusive to souls-games, that is applicable to boss fights in any game. Metroidvania is determined by it's level design, interconnected levels you expand via shortcuts and abilities you gain allowing you to backtrack to a previous area and reach places you couldn't before, that is what a Metroidvania is.

It's actually kind of insane how they managed to fit a hacking puzzle (that's usually hated in most games even in a vacuum) and fit it into moment to moment combat. Not only does it work but it somehow doesn't slow the pace of gameplay as much as you'd think. Combat is still fast as shit and you're constantly jumping or boosting around and there's strategy to the hacking too. Low-key it feels like a more complete version of what 9S's combat should've been in Automata.
