A Zimbabwean-born British man accused of killing his wife and two daughters in the UK has temporarily declined to apply for bail. Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court today, where he faces an extradition request from the UK and a separate illegal firearm case in South Africa. He was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg last Friday for allegedly possessing an unlicensed firearm. UK authorities want him extradited to face charges linked to the murders of his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire. UK authorities are working with South African police to secure Tshuma's extradition once the local firearm case has been dealt with, He returns to court on the 22nd of July 2026 His mother and relatives were in court and refused to speak to the media. The Pretoria Magistrate’s Court has heard testimony that a ballistic report for DJ Sumbody's assassination was kept inside the home of police analyst Lawrence Makgotloe. Investigating officer in the murder of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart testified that they found 23 other reports at Makgotloe's place. Makgotloe is accused of manipulating forensic evidence to sabotage critical investigations, including the 2024 murder of Swart. The three Lesotho nationals accused of killing 13 people in a massive shooting in Cleveland claim they were tortured into agreeing to the charges. They appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court this morning, submitting an application to suppress their alleged confessions on the grounds that they were made involuntarily. The three accused Molebeli Mosia, Ramonne Tsibela, and Zipho Metsing claim their confessions to murder and attempted murder were made involuntarily. It is alleged the accused, together with other assailants, drove into the Jumpers informal settlement and opened fire - killing residents and injuring 14 others on the 9th of June. The case has been postponed to the 09th of July 2026. PM #KayaNews
